Of their time really, I don't think on the whole their songs are great (although there are exceptions) but if you were that age at that time it will bring back nostalgia in bucket loads of school discos and alike and you can't help but like it.

They were terrible when they were a ska band* but wrote some great pop songs later.

I remember them playing the Empire and as you do 'we' went down to try and gain exclusive 'free entry' via the fire exits. There were loads of adult skins/rude boys milling about very pissed off because the majority of the crowd were little 'nutty boys' in pork pie hats with their mums and dads.
That was the target audience.

Saw them at the M&S Bank Arena a few months back with Squeeze as the warm up.
