Man City "Will be the biggest club in the world"

They have the capablity to become a trophy contender in this country pretty quickly (a domestic cup, that is). It'll take years of massive investment and good management on and off the pitch before they could expect to win a Premiership or CL. I cant see this Cook feller lasting long, tbh. He has banana skin written all over him.

They may well be, but they are cringeworthy the way they operate as a club.

Seriously, I can't imagine Everton being like this if we had the same money.

And a supporters forum in New York? Come on seriously. New York and Manchester City supporters in the same sentence. Whoppers.

What those idiots fail to comprehend is the fact by the time they do 'get there' they will be hated by all en sundry, victories will count for nothing and the game will suffer hugely because of their pathetic arrogance..............................Meltchester Shitty is now their name and long will it remain that way......................screw them.

If there is anyone I feel sorry for its the true Shitty supporter, and there are many, who are also appalled by the buffoons circling Eastlands, all the money in the world yet they chose to heap self inflicted shame on what was a decent club. (n)(n)(n)

Strictly observing from the sidelines but it seems to me that some of these so-called "Big clubs", who feel the need to differentiate themselves from the so-called "non-Big clubs" with sound bites like this, end up alienating their fans.. look for example at:

Man U - and the anti-Glazer factions - a significant minority PLUS those who have formed FCUM

The Sh*te - and their breakaway organisations - those who complain they can't get/afford a ticket

It will happen at City I'm sure - there must be some supporters who yearn for their club to be successful by the right means - to actually progress by growth and good management on and off the pitch - not simply to buy success as all the attendant cost for cheap success will, inevitably, be passed back to the ordinary supporter.

In fact we have and continue to witness a sea-change in the game - you only have to watch some of the dross being served up in lower levels of the professional game to realise that the money is not filtering down much and any half decent prospect has been snapped up at 18 and dumped in the PL sides' reserves, (also think smaller TV income and overall transfer policies) - slowly and surely the likes of the big 5-6 spenders ("Big 4 plus City/Spurs in particular) have strangled the game.

Cook is a first class idiot - he's already opened his mouth before and allowed crap to come out - so we shouldn't expect much different.

They're not even the bigger club in Manchester.

Never have been and never will.

Big talk emanating from a club side that has for ever been in the shadows of it's much more illustrious neighbors and have not won anything of note since 1970.

European Cup winners Cup.

I can't bring myself to hate them though.

Robinho's proposed move to Santos could yet be scuppered after one of the youngsters involved in the deal admitted he did not want to join Manchester City.
City's 26-year-old schemer announced before the FA Cup tie with S****horpe on Sunday, a game in which he scored his first goal of the season, that he was set to join his former club in a loan deal until the end of the season.
Santos confirmed that the transfer was 98 per cent done on Tuesday, with City agreeing to have first option on promising Santos duo Neymar and Paulo Henrique.
However Henrique, who was linked with Chelsea in December, has now admitted that he has no interest in joining City.
"I don't want to play for Manchester City, " he said.
"I'd prefer to play for a big club in Europe such as Milan, Real Madrid or Barcelona."
City will hope that their financial muscle can convince the 20-year-old that his future would best be served at Eastlands, but for now the Robinho deal remains on hold.
The former Real Madrid ace has been named in City's squad for the Carling Cup semi-final second leg at Manchester United on Wednesday, with Roberto Mancini admitting that he could yet make the bench.

Had a little laugh at that one. Apt for this thread considering the OP.
