Manager abuse

Modern Britain is no longer a civil society in my eyes - or at least thats the way we are heading as people increasingly think more about themselves and their own wants, over the needs of the whole.

That said, if I were to put myself forward to do a job that paid millions and didn't do it very well, I'd expect abuse from frustrated fans who work their lifetime fir a fraction of what I'd be handed in a year. Its the simple unfairness of society that frustrates people to the point where they lose civility.

Remember the days how bad Roy was treated by the rs and now the Spurs manager getting vile abuse from fans after 6 games.

At the end of the day these are human beings. I'm worried that we will end up doing the same to Rafael once he losing.

Depends how you want to spin it.

Spurs have lost their last 3, but are still in 3 cups, and 4 points of the CL places.
By contrast, if you listen to some of the media, Arsenal are about to win the league.

So is the criticism of Nuno realistic and he’s not very good? Or did he get schooled by an excellent manager? It can’t be both, can it?

Whatever suits the agend though. Arteta, cut from the schooling Guardiola is always going to get priority over a fella who was let go by Wolves cause it hurts the “Top 6 Agenda” that.

I'm lost by this post. He's talking about supporters not the media... maybe then the rest of it makes sense if you look at it through that lens. Otherwise I'm not sure whether you actually believe Arteta is a good manager or what's sarcasm and what isn't.

So I haven't seen it, but I'd guess he's talking about things being said that are far worse than the treatment he is getting in the media.

Also, leave race out of it and say whatever you like. I don't care. I'll be fine when Rafael inevitably gets his but I exist in this weird spot with him. Where I think he's doing alright, but because of his time at the rs I find him personally to be annoying and dislike able.

So idk, I'm just supposed to love the guy now? I want them to win.. but I don't care for the guy. It's similar to allardyce in terms of likeability. My feelings towards the manager one way or the other have no bearing on the teams performance...

Regardless of what many of you who carry on with this kind of just "shut up and get behind the manager/team" attitude I see emanating from some. As I think you must believe fans have some great impact on the team if you are going around telling people that on the internet.

Anyways, the treatment of managers. It comes with the territory. Like I said, I believe you leave certain things, nationality, race, religion, sexuality out of it. But outside of that I'm pretty fair game on say whatever you want.

Fans are fickle, and often led by the media for me.

It's one in my opinion that, if the media were behind Nuno, like they have been with Arteta (I genuinely can't recall Arteta having questions asked, when he was bottom of the league, in such hit like Nuno has). I think when you're reading and watching sport most days, like I do, it's something I notice.

Nuno doesn't fit the agenda, and that's just modern football. Too many times, fans will press ahead with whatever the media spins. Nuno is, similar to Allardyce, you've touched on it, but with Benitez. He wasn't the choice people wanted, they've got an ex-Wolves man, who was let go, and were teased with Conte, Fonseca and he's not getting the results. He was always going to fail.

What I would say is let the results do the talking. As for our manager, 13 out of 18 is a good return, and you can only beat what's infront of you. I guess for me, a manager should be judged on performance, and if we play a cagey, compact football but we get into Europe i'm happy. You've got to let what he's done in the past go, and base it on now. So far, I'm satisfied.

Anything else, Colour, Gender, Sexuality I couldn't care about. I want to win, and I wanted European Football, if Benitez wins us a cup, he automatically becomes the most successful manager in the last 26 years..

And rightly so. He knew what he was getting himself into, so abuse should come as no shock to him.
