More likely than him suddenly bringing in 10 players fresh from South America would be him trying to cherry pick the ones who've already made that first move to Europe in Holland, Belgium and the 'smaller' countries, that plus can be pretty sure we'd have a line into PSV in terms of deals like the one with the lad we sent to Anderlecht this season for work permits etc.

Well we will be "stealing" their mastermind Dof, the man who got them "back to the top", I cant see them opening their arms to us but a reachout as well, but we will see.

Be interesting to see what happens to be honest.

Given the vast sums we have spunked on utter tosh its not gonna be an easy summer for whoever has to try and fix the utter state we are, so I can defo see us gobbling up quite a few yoots.

Aye have to hope that their is genuine substance to the rumopurs on DoF, Manager, CEO etc really, club needs a major overhaul and at least another chance at getting a longer term plan working.

Interesting that two of the rumours that seem to be getting traction - the left back - was a target for Brands at PSV and the former teammate of Tosun on a free was a AZ academy product when Brands was in charge as DoF there. Would suggest either the media are being really clever with who they are linking, or if they are targets then he's effectively already passed on a list of names to get in the door

Walsh this morning: "My badge doesn't seem to be working"?

Im no expert at all, but with regards players hes a big fan of the yoots and seems to have a decent eye for them, he went for a pretty unproven Manager in Cuco, a manager who shared his interest in playing yoots.

Its hard to say what he would do, people expect him to plough the SA market, but its much, much harder to get work permits in this country and the whole Henry affair highlights the dangers of loaning players out to get work permits, but I suppose if we got a little European club on the side were we could farm out our yoots it could work.

Anyway, im trying not to get too excited, but the prospect of Brands and Paulo steering the ship from the icebergs makes me wanna insert my penis in your ear David.
Ha Ha ha.

Essentially, other clubs believe Mendes is working as Wolves' DOF and is funnelling players through there to essentially either, a - make his own money by moving them from their previous club to Wolves or B - taking them their own club either permanently or on loan thus inflating their value and then moving them on to where he still gets a cut.

With it being Mendes, he essentially reaches every player in the world because of who he is.

Yes, it stinks but that's the game nowadays. You're either a Mendes club or a Raiola club.

I'd hope Fonseca, he managed to talk LVG into taking on the AZ job when he was DoF at them, so the bloke can obviously be persuasive.

Fonseca would kind of fit into the style of play that PSV play as well - which is ultimately a style set up in part by Brands recruitment etc.

Mendes clubs and Raiola clubs.

I feel like I've been living on a desert island. I know nothing.

So Brands is good with these people and can get us deals on established talent?

Ok, that sounds like he's a handy person to have around.

But I want a manager who focusses on bringing through the talent we have and isn't solely interested in spending loads of cash to clubs and agents to prove how good he is.

..that sounds fine but players have to be good enough to make the step up. I’m as keen as anybody at bringing talent through, but I also realise that very few prove to be good enough. Indeed, the strategy of buying youngsters like DCL, Holgate and Stones is looking the most fruitful route.

Dutch newspaper saying PSV are "in the dark" over Brands coming to us.

Can't be the case. This link has been established for months and has been reported by several different and unconnected places.

King at the Mail, the Echo and now Sky Sports.
I'd guess Brands has agreed to outline terms to join Everton through his agent but we haven't made an official approach to PSV yet so the compensation package is yet to be negotiated.
It'll take a while to resolve but it's grest news. I'm wary of someone from the Dutch league but he's done well at PSV and we desperately need the unmitigated failure Walsh replaced in the role of DOF.
