Ali? Definitely someone that does not fit with Everton.Who is he?

So what? He had 3 years on his contract. He goes nowhere if the will is there to keep him.He wanted to leave and not stay.
Exactly. The thing i look at, at he Gueye deal is the value, decision making and impact. You can see the logic in isolation of the one deal of selling a player hitting 30 for the 30 odd mill fee we got. You do however have to turn that into value and to your advantage and bring a positive impact - that didn't happen.
Since we sold him, we have spent:
£25 mill on Gbamin
£8.5 mill on Delph
£20 mill on The Duke
£22 mill on Allan.
Then you think about wages of the above.
I wont include Gomes.
Thats £30 mill in and the guts of £80 mill spent, trying to replace him. You have to question the decisions made there and if we got value out of what looked like a good value deal.
I think you also have to look at the impact to, we basically had no midfield last season and it absolutely torpedoed our season and hopes of progress to Europe, it also impacted on the value of other players. How much would Sigursdson have been worth after hitting double digits in attacking returns after Silvas first season, hes not worth much now after being shunted into central midfield and over urn for a year.
Its things like the above i find it very hard to reconcile, because they impart on the club welfare on and off the pitch so much.
And if Gueye’s form tailgated on account on him not getting his promised move, you’d have been the first to lay criticism for not selling when we had the chanceSo what? He had 3 years on his contract. He goes nowhere if the will is there to keep him.
It was Brands' decision to get shut for the cash available.
No, I wouldn't have. And if Gueye’s form tailgated on account on him not getting his promised move, you’d have been the first to lay criticism for not selling when we had the chance

It was never going to be a situation where he solved all problems right away so gradual improvement should be expected. For right back, I think it was a situation where Coleman was still seen as serviceable while other positions were just plain bad. We also had a let’s wait and see right back in Kenny. The striker thing still confuses me though. Loaning Kean and not replacing him was just an odd thing to do. If the thought was that Rich would fill that, then we needed another winger. In general, I think he’s done a decent job cleaning up a pretty big mess, but it’s fair to want a little more.Think his signings overall have been a success but for me it's more what he hasn't done.
He improves us year on year no doubt but year on year misses out on key signings/positions
We've needed a RB for years and he hasn't sorted that, selling gueye for gbamin was strange ( no one could have predicted his injuries tbf ) not signing a striker as back up for DCL when the only other striker we had is tosun who is that bad he couldn't even play back up to DCL bexause he played a game against Rotherham the week before.
Think the doucoure signing was a year late, we've needed legs in the middle for a long time
Lookman ,Vlasic would agree with thisHave to disagree Dave, does not pay to keep an unhappy player.
