I do wonder if the new visa as rules will make Brands mission much more difficult.

He can’t sign U18 year olds from abroad and European players now have to have the right points for a visa. That will block a lot of the 18-22/23 year olds. Squad development will need many more homegrown players for the youth ranks.

Zirkee probably wouldn’t have got a visa.

Zirkzee would surely get a visa due to the transfer fee being in the top 15% in the league and also because hes a 'special talent'.

Brands doesn't sign the players anyway.

He does if they turn out bad.

While I don't think he's been great, half the time his hands have been tied with signing youngsters because the club made mistakes before he joined and we then got a ban.

It’s one of the Post Brexit transfer rules.
No signing of any U18 players from abroad. we used to be able to sign them from within the EU but that’s now gone,

Wow...so even if a Brazlian has a portuguese passport we still cant sign him?

As for Zirkee’s points you may be right. What I do know is that the new rules mean he needs 15 points for a work permit. I don’t know how close he comes.

So if I have this right Carlo signs the players we get and Brands fails to sign the ones we do not get

Carlo only signs them if they turn out good. If they’re rubbish it’s a Brands signing. They can also change, so Godfrey and Doucoure were Brands signings until they started playing well and then they became Carlo’s.

Pennington and Bolasie won’t ever kick a ball again for Everton thanks to the architect. He’s shifting out our deadwood piece by piece.

I think Brands would be ok to stay as long as Ancelotti is managing us. Ancelotti identifies who he wants for the first team and it's Brands' job to negotiate, and sign promising young players. If we got a Head Coach rather than a manager we would need a better DOF.

Its not Premier league rules, it is global FIFA rules that have existed for ages. The only thing that has changed is the UK is no longer part of the EU´s exemption to this.
