I hope I’m wrong but I can tell that he is not a top tier manager and never will be. He will never change the mentality of the club, which is what we need.

Changing the mentality of this Club is the biggest task for whomever the manager is.....it would need a magician not a manager

So sick of the cycle of averageness we are now in, its like groundhog day every year. We have to keep patient its the only way there is no quick fix. But we do need that striker. And Silva needs to stick to his best team and formation now and maybe learn a few lessons from games like this you need to make changes before you go behind not afterwards. And Brands needs to sort us out a striker worthy of this club.

There's always an excuse.

We have a DoF. His sole task is to line up players for two transfer windows, in and out...and he incredibly makes a statement saying that one of the two transfer windows that come around every season is not one he likes to act in.

Unbelievable.

I wouldn't take stock in what he says Dave tbh, it could just be a bluff after all most of our business in the summer was done largely under cover

It;s going to get worse too now that lot are on the verge of becoming champions.

I feel sorry for the feller. He's going to be doing his best but getting mauled.

So that would be a resounding “no” from you then. Easier to criticise from the sidelines I suppose.

The amount of memory loss on this forum is unbelievable. People are acting like Klopp and Guardiola fell from the sky in a beam of light 5 months ago and are ripping up the league with nothing but a sprinkle of fairy dust and hugs.

Klopp has been there 3 years now and Guardiola has had the benefit of half a billion pounds on top of an already expensive squad.

The Howe shouts are random too, Bournmouth will end up about 12th at the end of the season.

You seem to be happy tonight with all these smilies. I wonder why?

Hmmmm....
You've been rumbled lad....dont live in our city, dont go to the game, you come from Liverpool but you dont now..are you a teacher? Seem used to telling people what to do...do you know Billy Bullens from Kipper?? Love ya really...what was your first game at Goodison ?

If he is doing his job right (and I am not saying either way) then he shouldn't really need the second window.

We create chances. Don't think there's been a game this season where we haven't created. We're just not clinical.

Walcott, Bernard, DCL, Tosun all guilty of missing relatively easy chances.

Richarlson is our only goal threat really. Which has been the problem pre and post Lukaku. Not enough players helping out with the goals.
I said this at half time, not composed or clinical enough, a top team would have been 3 up.

While I’t was a disappointing performance, looking at it constructively. Had it finished 0-0 there would have been a lot of, not great, missed a few decent chances, hit the woodwork twice, take a Point move on.

Obviously a defeat changes a lot of the mindset, in the first half their only chance that I can remember, was the dangerous cross they Pickford had to parry. As for us, there was a small chance when there keeper dropped the ball, the save from Richarlison, then Coleman should have done better with the rebound, why not hit it first time, showed really poor composure and technique trying to bring it down and take it around the defender.

Gana after winning the ball and driving to the edge of the box, then hasn’t a clue what to do, Bernard should be on his toes when Richarlison heads back at the back post, he could of had a tap in.

And Walcott, who was anonymous for most of the game, had one decent chance to get Gana in at the back post and put it out of play. And also had enough chance to play Coleman in or play a one-two, instead tried to dribble into the box past 3 of them and lost the ball, how often does he do that.

2nd half we didn’t create loads, woodwork twice and the Bernard chance where he’s got to be hitting the target, as for Brighton the goal, the Pickford save which was straight at him and the Zouma block, can’t remember any more chances.

So for me we had the Better chances, but not for the first time this season, lack of composure, quality, intelligence, killer instinct. What ever you want to call it has cost us again. And will only change when we buy the top level players.

Moyes replacing Smith, things got better right away
Martinez replacing Moyes, things got better,, much better.
Koeman replaced Martinez, things did look better and there was improvement.
Fat head Sam replaced Koeman, and he steadied us and we looked better and harder to beat.
Silva replaced Fat Head and we have gone backwards. And with massive investment.....
Things getting “much better” under Martinez is a bit of an exaggeration. The team played very well the previous season and it was a continuation of that, coupled with the addition of a lethal striker in Lukaku. Once Martinez mucked about with it too much it all fell apart.

I think it does. Sam was no genius but he at least produced a base level of consistency. This clown isn’t even able to provide that.

Supporting Allardyces appointment at Everton gives you zero credibility....he is the biggest crook in football, and every single game under him was sickeningly painful to endure. A “base level of consistency”....what on Earth was that....we were abysmal to a point that having watched us week in week out for 40+ years I wanted to stay away, but couldn’t force myself to. If you don’t see the positive difference in the footballing ethos of Silva compared to Allardyce then maybe WWF is for you, not football.
