Also what does Big dunc exactly do ? He has been part of 3 seasons of failure and still has a job.
This has been discussed before and we're still no closer to the answer. Have his merits been recognised by all three hence why he's got a job?

An example of a good coach or does it tell you something about the judgements of our managers? Or is he protected by some of the higher echelons at the club?

Every peripheral stat is better AND it's a massive change stylistically. We created very little last year. We almost led the league in long balls. Last in crosses. 19th in shots. 16th in shots on target. This year we lead the league in crosses, we have created much more, we are much better in possession and Silva isn't even focused as much on it.

We complain about not beating BHA away, Newcastle at home, etc. but we were the better team. I think of the last game against West Ham or Watford where we didn't just get beat, we were dominated. We had zero chance against the big clubs last year, this year we've been unfortunate.

So you're expecting a Silva to fix everything in 6 months? Implement a dozen new players, get rid of double the amount of players, and set about a new system and way of playing?

You're talking about a clean slate and rebuild. That doesn't happen in 6 months.

Let's get it right no ones expecting him to win the league. But we're expecting better than what we are getting

Keep hearing this transition and settling in new players and that. Who isn't? Wolves have jusf been promoted and signed quite a few people and they're outperforming us with what I would say a weaker team "on paper" with players who have never played in this league before

Settling in players j agree does need patience but where 6 months in and still can't beat teams like Brighton who are absolute dross

So he believes we did enough to win, beg pardon but that is nonsense. You do enough to win when you score more goals than them, there are no points for trying!
Also has to the cheek to mention tiredness, needs to get a life.

It is ironic that since losing the Derby with that stupid goal our neighbours have gone on a huge winning spree, don't see Klopp changing a winning team and yet look at our twerp, beginning to think he does not have much of a clue but I did say previously give until the season end and will stand with that.

Does not mean I have to agree with the team selections, tactics, set up (stupid 3 CB system) and the pathetic excuses at the end of the games.

Problem is if you're not progressing then you're going backwards and that's what we're doing right now

I wouldn’t say we are going backwards, there’s a long term plan in place you would hope. The summer is when we will see those plans take more shape.

For now the focus is on growing the team that we have and readying for the summer.

The squad of players we have will have to focus on being a part of our future. I suspect some won’t have any ability to turn aroun their fortunes, but we have many that are growing within the unit.

Brands will have more scope in the summer with expiration of squad players that don’t add anything and additionally look to offload longer term players for what he can.

Splurging money now won’t make a difference to our season. It’s frustrating to not add but, the summer holds more hope for progression than adding now.

That does not win games, goals need to be scored.

I would agree with most of this, but not that emboldened bit.

We really should have seen more of some players - certainly Lookman, but also Holgate (certainly if we are trying a back 3), DCL and Kenny - and less of others, who despite playing awfully for several games in a row continue to find themselves in the starting XI.

Hopefully we can focus on our only January priority (signing Gomes on a permanent deal) and then have the rest of the season to bring through more of the younger players, if for no other reason that it will prevent money being wasted and it keeps what is probably the best youth setup in the country going.

At Goodison we gave everyone a game under Moyes. Turned plenty of good sides over as well.

Under Moyes who had time we had 13 players - sure everyone chipped in, but we have a huge squad presently filled with tosh that if anything hindering Brands’ plans to take us forward as we haemorrhage money in wages. Even Moyes with all his time had a largely unbalanced squad mostly right backs and centre mids. He never had the ambition to take the team to the next level. That negativity got us nowhere.

I believe Silva and Brands do have the ambition, they just need time and patience.

Already we can see a better level of players being added with the pursestrings tighter than they were under Koeman - and rightly so as we are in transition - trying to get rid of players who do not contribute anything. Moyes had his problems but, he did bring a lot on himself when it came to push us on.

I understand people want success, I do too. It isn’t going to happen right away, but we are building a team and Brands/Silva have done so much already it’s going to take time to all come together.

That squarely points the finger at Silva and poor management.
