Keep the faith lads.

No point just having a revolving door on the manager's office. Any manager (except Allardyce) should get at least 18 months - 2 years unless they really have us staring down the barrel.

We are playing better than last season as much as the table doesn't reflect. Still in the FA Cup and still a lot of games to go.

Was just wondering when Watford punted him.

Silva was dismissed by Watford on 21 January 2018, with the club citing the "unwarranted approach by a Premier League rival" that caused "significant deterioration in both focus and results to the point where the long-term future of Watford FC has been jeopardised".

He is off on Monday then! :)

Players lose form. We have so few good players that when our good ones hit the inevitable slump, the effect is exacerbated.

Silva may turn out to be the wrong man,
But some of the hyperbole on here is embarrassing. Silva has been poor with some of his selections and poor with some of his substitutions - but so were every one of our previous managers right back to the 90s! We would NOT be better off with Allardyce, Koeman, Martinez or Moyes. They were all poor in their own ways. The way people talk about Moyes on here you would think he oversaw a dynasty. If most managers were given 11 years without a threat to their position, I would expect them to be able to build something semi-decent.

The issue for me is that a lack of ambition is REALLY starting to bite us now. We took too long to freshen up and replace Moyes' team, leaving too much to do each transfer window. Then when we have had money, We have tried to accelerate it City style, without giving enough thought to the off the field stuff. We have made a series of blunders in this area until this summer. Brands is a good appointment and did well this summer but has too much to do. Including shifting the deadwood. If we don't do that soon we will struggle.

However, no other club would allow a player like Lukaku to go without sorting out a proper replacement even 2 years later!! My concern would be if we leave getting one in till the summer then we will be pulled into the relegation mix. You simply cannot compete without a striker and it is naive of the board to believe we can do so. It has to be a priority this January, even if it is just on loan.
So how do you explain Richarlison being poor lately, Gomes same, Mina can't nail down a place with *this* defence?

Silva only knows to play the system that fits players of Barcelona or City calibre, who has not only dribbling skills but the strong legs n fitness to penetrate. Our current squad just don't cut it in this category. (Sorry that I thought they are on par with the top 4 at the start of season). Bernard has dribbling skills, but weak feet due to small stature and easily run out of steam and lose possession on longer runs; Richardson has end scoring instinct, but poor possession ability due to tumbly legs;. Sigurdsson- good on touch football but no dribbling skills whatsoever; Gomez seem to have spurts of good dribbling skills, but lack confidence when the team is not playing well (weak mentality, maybe the result of time at Barcelona); Coleman -totally should fit in the system if the old himself couple of years ago, not now, looks not able to hold on to his dribble;. Walcott - seem to have the flair in dribbling but have no idea how to use it to good effect esp ending; Digne- quite proficient but only can do so much with the other players that can play to his level; Lookman the only player that looks to have both dribbling skills n stability n strength. To sum it up, the squad is not good enough to carry the system Silva plays, and this is bad as Silva has no plan B.

The alarm bells are always ringing for me when managers talk about players fitting their philosophies. It should be about managers adapting to the players they have.

Who's been tapping him up then, spill the beans.

It’s not going to get better until he brings his players in

Bring back moyes!
Except he won't get to bring 'his players in. They're Brands players and its up to Silva to mould them into a functioning unit. He needs to coach the players, use different tactics to outsmart the opposition.
In the past 2 months since the derby, was there a game you can say we were unlucky to have lost?
