2019/20 Marco Silva

Richarlison spent most of the second half virtually holding hands with the full back. In the second half Digne didn't look interested, he wasn't looking for the ball most of the time and only half arsed was up and down the flank. As for Pickford saving the ball that's what he's there for. As for the second goal - his effort was poor no determination to come out and attempt to put the player off.

If those 3 played like they did yesterday for their national teams, they'd be binned.

I totally disagree, but footballs all about opinions.

For me, Richarlison got the ball on the left and helped to beg Aarons back (hes one heck of a player btw) while also providing a threat...more so than anyone else bar Iwobi when he came on.

Digne kept getting up and down...he made some odd decisions like shooting miles out a couple of times when he could have carried the ball but kept going.

Pickfords job is to save goals...he did it well...im not sure why youve slated him?

Of the starters who played better than those 3?

When you look at the players (ignoring those injured) theres only 5 who should be starting.

Pickford, Mina, Digne, Iwobi and Richarlison.

No matter who the manager is...youre only as good as your weakest link and sadly there is a massive gulf between them and the rest.

Silva or Any of the other highly rated managers i mentioned will still need a lot more players to make this a competitive side.

How would you have set up yesterday?

GK-- Pickford pics himself

DF-- Picks itselt

MF-- Either Schneiderlin or Baningime and hes gone with experience

FW-- Richarlison picks himself but Tosun, Walcott and Sigurdsson are dreadful.

Aside from:

Baningime for Schneiderlin
Iwobi for Sigurdsson
Gordon for Walcott
Kean/DCL for Tosun

What would you have done?
Maybe used words like , Urgency , desire and pride . Might help a bit !

The idea he stays in place just because we have a dreadful run coming up is insane. I'd say the opposite we need a new man in asap, we aren't going to judge him on those games and we may even get a bounce.
Agreed, I can't understand the mentality of people basically saying we have a manager who can't win the easier games best stick with him for the hard games. Insanity.

What would you have done?

back four/five can’t change for consistency reasons plus Michael Keane is a donkey

The game was lost due to us being unable to move at pace and through the lines. So having Baningime or Morgs has the holder wouldn’t have made much difference

Davies and Iwobi in front, break the lines and run with with the ball. Kean Richarlison and Walcott as a front 3,playing inside rather than hugging the touch lines and interchanging to drag their defences all over the gaff and exploiting the space for Iwobi and Davies to drive into

Gordon on the bench to give the crowd a boost if he came on

Sack him, I’ll take the job. I have no experience or qualifications, but I have seen all our games on tv this year. I believe this makes me better than Marco, who seems unable to spot the various problems we have, which are blatantly obvious even armchair fans like myself! Give him his pay off, £200 a week will do me!

This is what gets me about Silva. We have seen what doesn't work this season over and over again yet he wheels it out week after week. Our best performance was West Ham at home with a fluid attack, Iwobi at ten. Why revert to the slowness of Sig and Morgan again? It seems he has panic'd after the Gomes injury.
