Van Basten has been confirmed as Ajax's new boss after he steps down as the Dutch national team boss after Euro '08.

I like this cat, as a player and as a manager. IIRC he doesn't put up with any [Poor language removed] from his players and isn't afraid to drop someone if they piss him off. That is what any national team needs......a leader with balls!

Go Marco! Next year I want you to come runners up in the Champions League after losing to us in the final (y)

thought this was going to be about Materazzi when I first clicked it.

Good coach, doesn't take any crap will do well for AJAX.

Word of warning, he is a great admirer of the Pieman, ex Ajax, Stevie come home, not impossible:@

He'll be good for Ajax, I think, but until they stop being a selling club, not much will change. Anyone else notice how many former Ajax players took part in last week's CL games? I counted 7, and I only watched part of 3 games. There were 3 at Analfield alone.

Well VDM wasn't one of them CT:lol::lol::lol:

I wonder if he may want him back????

True story...

We were in Amsterdam in July 2006, visited the Arena when the Ajax squad was in pre-season training. We met some players (got pics of my kids with Kenneth Perez).

Anyway, I mentioned to some dude in the shop that I support Everton, and that VDM was at Everton. His response in Dutch was effectively "you have my sympathy."

class player, after a holland u21 game he threw himself on top of arjen robben to stop feyenoord nutters from kicking him to death, respected so much in holland that they left him alone as it would have meant giving to him too, guess they'll hate him now though.
