Is on the road to recovery and should be back taking charge of football league games before the end of the month. For those who don't know - EPL ref Mark Halsey's last match was our first of the season. He's been battling throat cancer and has been too unwell to participate. Now i don't pretend to like him as a ref, but i'm chuffed for him that he's on the mend
 

Glad to hear he's on the mend, cancer is a horrible illness. Hopefully that's the end of it for him.
 
Yeah, I've probably given him stick in the past, I'll probably give him stick again in the future if he referees another Everton match - he'll expect nothing less - but I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Hope he makes a full recovery soon
 
If he comes back to Goodison i honestly expect a round of applause before ko, then the usual hostility towards him after the whistle goes
 

He's actually one of the better referees, probably one of the most respected amongst players and managers alike. Glad he's back
 
Not a big fan of referees, but this is something else. Good to hear he's on his way back and can take to the field again soon perhaps.
 

Just had an interview with him on Football Focus.

On talking about the support he had, he singled out Phil Neville - saying he sent him a text message. Good lad Phil.

He also said his doctor who told him he had beat cancer celebrated like Everton had scored a goal.
