omg.. that is sickening. looks like something from the crowd perhaps was thrown on to the track and it hit him on the head knocking him unconscious. he has just gone full throttle in to the tire wall.
 

thank god for that. those cars are amazing for safety.

he will have one hell of a head ache tomorrow.
 
news filtering through now that he has suffered some sort of skull damage and is going in for surgery.

According to SSN he is in a "life-threatening condition following surgery on a skull fracture"

Fingers crossed for him. Looked terrible the chunk of metal flying right at him at speed.
 
He's lucky it was some sort of cylindrical thingy that nailed him in the head - would've been screwed if it'd been anything with any sort of sharp edge.

Massive impact though, something falls off a car doing 200km/h and you're racing towards at another 200km/h, it's only going to end badly.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery - he's much less of a prick than a lot of them come across as.
