Player Valuation: £50m
Former Motherwell manager and current Derby manager Billy Davies is interested in working with former protege james mcfadden and could spend £4 million to bring him to the pride park.

Derby return to the premiership for the 2007-08 season and Davies sees Mcfadden as perfect to bolster his attacking line. Would Moyes who spent £1.25 million cash in on the mercurial scotsman who has so far failed to find the form regularly seen at international level take £4 million now?

not sure at all on ths one Suits. Faddy did show marked improvement last term, prior to that I would have snapped their hands off. I would like to know what DM's intentions are re-incomings, Nugent, Kightly and others.

It does occurred to me that this 'interest' from Derby may just spark a bidding war if the big two north of the border are also interested in Faddy as is rumoured

Four milion is a very good price, though i have to say i like Faddy out ans out winger for me.

Youd worry though if we got four for Faddy would Moyes be willing to accept less than the 6 mill we paid for Beattie. I know wel probably have to but it pissed me of when we took a loss on Kroldrup and the explanation was that we didnt loose money because we made a profit on other players. The whole idea is to make a profit.

When it comes down to transfers win some lose some as long as it balances out into the black.

As McF, 4 mill seem a good profit, as for him being a winger how often have you seen him go down the wing and put a cross in or take any corners for that matter. He was bought as a striker in the first place, admittedly scored a few nice goals but not nearly enough.

Honestly every second weekend when Motherwell were at home i lived in that area for a while, he was the best player in that leauge head and shoulders and he was only a kid. some of the stuff he did was unbeleivable for his age. I know it was Scotland blah blah but he was crying out for a big stage.

Oh and he was never a striker back then always a winger or played behind the front two. He only started the striker [Poor language removed] when he moved down south. I remeber one of his first games against Leeds when he was on the wing i think we won 5-0 that day with Watson getting a hat-trick he was outstanding. In fairness he has played very well over the last two seasons when given a chance.
