I woke up early and struggled to get back off. So looked at my phone for 10 minutes, fell asleep and woke up after 9am.

I am from Maghull so always referred to it as a suburb on the outskirts of Liverpool. My dad was bombed out of Bootle during the war and would only ever admit to being from Bootle, Lancs. Not coming from the city itself and being a Blue I would never admit to or claim to be a Liverpudlian. If anyone asked if I was I just said I am an Evertonian from just outside Liverpool.

You should have said you're from Sefton. They'll think you're posh lol

There are two distinct Liverpool accents. Don't know if it's North/South or what. There's the cewk and bewk accent or the cukk and bukk accent. I am in the latter camp. You can always spot a Scouser as soon as they say the word work. It always comes out as werrkk. No matter how mild the accent or how long they have been away. My biggest difficulty was saying shared services, especially when dealing with HR. It either came out as shaaired sairvices or shurred surrvices.

Many years ago the bloke in the house next door to my late Mum was raided as he was growing cannabis in his back bedroom. Later I discovered a plant growing at the bottom of her garden, no one believes me though, they say it is impossible in our climate. She made me burn it, great bonfire thoughlol

@jazzy since you are a tennis player and aficionado I was wondering what are your thoughts regarding Djokovic's Australian Open drama? I've never been a fan of arrogant Serb, I much preferred Nadal and his humble manners. And Djokovic's stands regarding Covid has made me really dislike him even more. The court may have ruled in his favor but he ends up playin at the Open I think he is going to have a really hard time on the tennis court as many tennis fans are not going to be happy with him.

Agree with you Jazzy. Not much of a tennis fan but the way his Dad was carrying on the other night was ridiculous. Comparing him to Jesus being crucified. Totally OTT. He's brought it all on himself and I love the way social media is currently referring to him as Novax Djokcovid.

Morning everyone, clouded over now after an absolutely stunning sunrise. Off to the optician yet again for me today, been to them three times already, GP and hospital. The consultant at hospital sorted one problem but told me to go back to optician for the other. Can’t complain about the GP and hospital because they fast tracked me as emergency so am grateful for that but am beginning to think that my other issue is to do with a wrong prescription - if it is - you may hear me explode?. Wish me luck. Hope today is good one for you all.

I'm a table tennis player not tennis .

However here's my tuppence ( can I use that after your lesson) worth.

If the Australian policy is If he you aren't vaccinated you aren't coming in then he should properly be excluded. However they stupidly have exemptions and of he fulfill the definition then he should be let in.

However the Australian immigration minister had the right to.override any decision and deport him.

Given that he was seen mixing , shaking hands and mask less 1 and 2 days after a positive test then clearly he doesn't give a damn and should be deported to send a message.

In this country we reidulouslt say you should wear a mask unless you have a medical exemption which you don't have to have evidence of.

We should have a policy of masks for everyone with no exemption. If you can't wear a mask you shouldn't go out.

Controversial I know , but you asked.

My kids born and raised in the North East once said to me Mum, the whole of Liverpool stinks of weed. I had never noticed until that point! ? ? ?

It's a bit like that down here. As far as I can tell you don;t get a lot of hard drugs. But everywhere you go there's "that smell" in the air.

In one of my wooded walks down to the Helford river I do in the summer, there is a really strong smell in the air. My friend who Cal used to work with said that's probably her ex husband who she knew grew his own stash down that way. lol

Since you laughed, in a good way , at my post to clarify particularly years ago lots of people on the outskirts of Liverpool, places that weren’t Liverpool used to fake some ridiculous faux Scouse accent. I found it more than one out of town , or on holiday that these people some how would be ‘pretending ‘ to be from Liverpool . I’ve genuinely no idea why , I can only assume it had a reputation they wanted to court but it was very very odd. I can’t have been the only person to have encountered it .

Thanks for the message @blue1948 Mr. Sassy and I are still recovering for this annoying illness but feeling much better than we did a few days ago. My chest still congested which makes me wonder if this is covid. If so this will be our first infection being fully vaccinated and boosted. I hope we get our results today or tomorrow so we can really know whether it is covid or just a flu. Not that it is going to make great difference except for knowing if we can get out of isolation or have to remain quarantining for a few more days. I hope you and Mrs. B are staying warm and covid free. xx
