Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I did. I have to try (and fail) to keep up with my daughter who is an absolute beast and can leg press 450kg. 6ft tall, ginger, figure to die for. The PT wants her to train properly and enter a strong woman competition. Her response "oohh no. Everybody will think I'm a lesbian"
Haha. That was probably the last thing that came to my mind Anj.

OK good morning everyone.
Breakfast made and eaten.
It is pretty cold out there with frost on the car.
So, it's mum's birthday today - 94 a grand old age and fortunately apart from being quite deaf ( but she can hear OK 1 on 1 ) and having occasional backache she is remarkably fit and well. Whilst my cousin will keep an eye on her for the next 2 weeks she lives very independently, indeed she will cook him pasties.
Given the current problems of @larbert toffee and @anjelikaferrett with their respective parents I feel so lucky.

Taking her out to lunch before final preparations.

That reminds me this is a massive weekend for @larbert toffee with his grandson having his first visit to Goodison. I hope that he finds it as awe-inspiring as I did on my first visit and that Big Dunc , the team and crowd are right up for the Villa game and get the result that we desperately need.

With a 12.30 ko it will be 7.30am over there so a big decision as to whether I find a TV showing it on board and annoy Mrs J that early into the holiday !

@Barnfred 55 I trust that the funeral went OK yesterday and that your heads not too bad today and that you have a safe trip home tomorrow.

Have a smashing time everyone. WiFi very patchy last time we were in the Caribbean so probably won't be posting much.
Mate that’s great news on your mums birthday I hope she has a fantastic day , im
Sure she will .

@anjelikaferrett impressive work on the leg press but dwarfed by your daughter’s achievements on there ! some strength there .

My youngest son, his girlfriend, my mate and my Grandson are all coming down tomorrow night for the weekend for the game, my brother is also flying back tomorrow from Thailand to resume parental care duties.
Can't wait for the match now Benitez has gone, I was willing to give him a chance at first but the guys stubbornness and arrogance was his downfall in the end.
My Grandson has been told that it's impossible to get tickets but we're going to watch the match in a pub near the ground to capture the atmosphere, at some point I'll hand him his ticket.
My youngest son's first game was a 7-1 win v Sunderland anything approaching that would be brilliant ?
Enjoy it mate.
Get your mate converted to Everton blue.

Hope your mum has a wonderful 94th birthday mate. It's great to hear she's so fit and sprightly. So she was born during Dixie Dean's 60 goal season. Amazing.

That's brilliant Larbs and a nice touch with the surprise for your grandson. Big Dunc will get Goodison absolutely jumping (remember the Chelsea game?), so it should be a great atmosphere. How old is your grandson?
He's 9 BTS, he only had a mild interest in football up until about a year ago now he's totally obsessed with Everton with a slight interest in Celtic.

Same here chaps. Midweek I tend to wake at anytime between 4:30 and 5:30. Weekends I sometimes treat myself to a good lie in until 8 - unless ale!
I am an early bird to be fair, I like my early mornings. Once I've got up with Daisy and been out in the cold I couldn't go back to bed. Just brew up, put the news on youtube and read GOT lol
I'm like you mate . If I wake early 4.40am today I can't get back to sleep.
I'm an early bird too :) Even on the weekends which drives me crazy because at least during the week the gym opens at 5:30 but on Saturday is 8 am so it messes with my schedule.

I had a brilliant day yesterday but wish I'd taken your advice now Sass. I did start off with a glass of diet coke but it went downhill from there
I wish you had too but you didn't want to listen to me :p

OK guys.

Just back from Rodney St. If anyone needs a fit to fly PCR I can recommend DAM health. Very efficient and safe service. Within an hour of getting home they emailed us 2 lovely negative certificates.

So just a LFT at the airport and we are on our way!
Happy to hear you and Mrs. J got negative results and are going to make it to the Caribbean. I hope you both have a fabulous time!

A rubbish day for me at work. I had my truck broken into during the night. They have literally cut a hole in the curtain to climb inside . Taken some garden unbrellas then scarpered.
David, that's so upsetting, I'm very sorry you have to deal with such rubbish thing to be done to your truck just to steal garden umbrellas. I hope your car insurance covers the damage.

Jazzy, a very happy birthday wish to your mum. She is indeed very fortunate to have arrived to such a wise age with only the occasional backache, may her health continue for longer.

My youngest son, his girlfriend, my mate and my Grandson are all coming down tomorrow night for the weekend for the game, my brother is also flying back tomorrow from Thailand to resume parental care duties.

LT, I'm super excited for your grandson to get his tickets and hear about his reaction, he is going to be thrilled. No having Benitez in charged is going to make this match a great one, I've been reading how excited people are about supporting Duncan on Saturday. It seems the players are pumped up about it too and want to have a good performance so this match seems one that your grandson is going to remember forever. Have a great time with your family!

Good morning folks. Happy birthday Mrs J Snr. I'm not jealous at all @jazzy of your imminent holiday. Have a fantastic time. Dad is in HDU ward at The Royal. He can't have visitors but can go outside the ward to have a chat to visitors who aren't visitors.(WTF?) He's still having tests to try to identify the cause of yesterday's bleed. My brother is going to take him some stuff in today. I'll ring Dad later and see how he is. He didn't have his phone on this morning when I tried.

In other news I went to the gym last night. It was brutal! 100 leg presses working down in sets of 20 from 300kg to 100kg was a particular highlight from the PT. But no pain no gain as they say. The healthy eating has survived for 4 days so far. I am making curry tonight with coconut milk but all the calories will be accounted for.

I'm feeling very excited already for the Villa match. Goodison will be bouncing. I sincerely hope that Big Dunc tw@ts (apologies for unladylike profanity @Barnfred 55 ) the odious Stevie G from one end of Goodison to the other - both metaphorically and actually!
Ange, I'm so sorry to read this news about your dad, I hope they are able to finally find out why he is dealing with that bleeding again. The Royal's visiting policy sounds absurd though :(

I feel your pain, Ange. I had a brutal gym session this morning but now I'm feeling very satisfy with my accomplishment and you should too. Keep it up! Having your daughter to workout together is so nice, I wish I also had a partner but nor my husband or my mom are fans of the gym. They rather walk or exercise outdoors.

I'm also super excited about the game against Villa, I have the feeling we are going to have a great match. Did you read Pickford's article, he seems to imply that the players are much happier training now and will give everything for Duncan because he is highly respected. Sounds like many of them feel much better now that Benitez is gone.

Morning all,

Very cold this morning here in Kent, but lovely and sunny, so decided to put on some layers and go for a walk. We have a park just round the corner from us, known as the Glades, and @Gwladysover and @Sassy Colombian inspired me to take this photo. If you zoom in, you can see seagulls standing on bits of ice in the distance.

Hope everyone has a good day x

Thanks for sharing these fantastic shots. I love to be able to a appreciate the same pic but during different times of the year.

Bright and cold again here today. Bit noisy as the RAF are flying overhead. Hope you get some good news about your Dad @anjelikaferrett . Bon voyage @jazzy . @larbert toffee your grandson will be beside himself with excitement, I know I would belol. Hope your pain is eased @Terrarian .Have a great day all.
Same here, it is another cold day and we are supposed to get more snow this evening. I really not looking forward to it. @blue1948 I admire your endurance in such a weather. The more I think about it the more I'm contemplating with the hubby moving somewhere warm when we retire.

I hope your double sided vision has improved ?

Thanks Sassy, I'm excited about it myself, my first game since lockdown.
