Metalist Kharkiv
Ground: Metalist Stadium
Capacity: 30,133
Head Coach: Miron Markevich

Little-known Ukrainians Metalist Kharkiv qualified for the Uefa Cup following a third place finish in the Ukrainian Premier League.

Their previous best finish was fifth and this is their first excursion into Europe.

Kharkiv's key player is Ukraininan international midfielder Oleksandr Rykun who has a wealth of experience from his domestic league.

African imports Onyekachi Nwoha (Nigeria) and Papa Gueye (Senegal) are also ones to watch.

Kharkiv is the second largest city in the Ukraine, after the capital Kiev, and is located in the north east of the country close to the Russian border. It has nearly 1.5 million inhabitants

The team share the city's 30,000 capacity Metalist Stadium with local rivals FC Kharkiv.

glad it isnt later in the season, it gets mighty cold up there around winter.

they wont be mugs so we will have to pay them the respect they are due.

never heard of them so we should win, hopefuly the only difficult thing about this tie will be the distance involved.

Oh yeah definitely, if we think any team in the competition is easy then we wont be in it for very long, but saying that, we are undoubtedly the better side, and as long as we're proffesional, then it shouldnt be a problem.

And yeah, lucky we play them in the Autumn, or a few of the lads from the warmer climates may get the shock of their lives!

I love the fact the so-called "2nd best Fan site" still has yet to report on the UEFA Cup draw, probably searching for a smart arse slant on it.

"Uefa, screw us over again"
"Scammed!"
"Communisim creeps into Goodison"

and so on and so forth...

That means you've been over there to look! Ghost how could you:lol:

temperature is normally a low of 39ºF and a high of 55 - 60ºF that time of year (when the return leg is on).

so its not going to be sub-artic which is normally one of the reason teams don't like fixtures that way (apart from the excessive travel and they can actually play a bit).

Slightly jealous of bolton getting the runners up in the mighty macedonian league and spurs getting the cypriotic chamionps (i ask you).

ah well should be good, this is your weatherman leonbil, be sure to have a nice weeky.
