A true legend. Mick neither asked for or gave quarter. Hard as nails, versatile and Everton through and through.

He was a very under rated centre back, one of the best around at the time and was a more than useful centre forward when called upon

We always used to throw him up front last 10/15 minutes if we needed a goal!!

Still my favourite Goodison game that(even ahead of Bayern!!),I know you will think I am mental, but as a thirteen year old mad Evertonian in a school infested with RS,that game meant the world

A tough lad with a ready smile. A great Evertonian who, like Darra, gave 100% in every game. One of my earliest memories seeing him play was in a midweek reserve game at Goodison. I think it must have been circa 1971, and I was on the terraces of the Enclosure. Stood near me were 3 or 4 lads (skins - Crombie overcoats etc) and they were obviously some of Mick's mates, shouting stuff to him & making references to Crocky (I think Mick was a De La Salle alumni) - both supportive and taking the piss, very funny & probably more entertaining than the game. Last seen at Latch's book signing evening at the Liner a few years ago. Happy Birthday Mick.

Probs said this before, but age does compromise. ? Mick was a superb supporter of kids football in Croxteth. Obviously had the pick of the talent in the area but he was there every Sunday for many years.
