Bluelass

Player Valuation: £8m
If you don't like dogs don't bother reading this.

I need a bit of support, fellow Blues.
My lovely dog is sick and I have to wait until next Wednesday before she can go in for her x ray and biopsy. The tests they've done so far have been 'inconclusive' but what they do now know that the lump she has is a mass of some sort, just don't know if it's malignant or not.
She's a 6 year old GS x with a whippet (very lively and very cute) who was abandoned as a pup and spent the first seven months in the rescue centre at Trelogan.
I've had dogs all my life, all bar one have been rescued and each time one dies I say 'never again' because it just hurts so much to lose them. I've been fortunate that they have all lived to a decent age and have all died before they had any suffering.
I'm just hoping and praying that this is something that can be removed and that she too can live to a ripe old age.

I know I'm a whimp and there are so many terrible things happening in the world that I have no right to feel so miserable right now but I'm worried sick.

Im a real animal lover- I actually have cats but they are like our children. They become part of the family and you cant help but get attached to them.

I hope it all goes well and good luck.x

My wife and I love animals and our pets are the centre of everything. Just keep going until it's decided one way or the other what will happen. Make the dog comfortable and give it your love. You can't do more than that. And, no, I don't think you're wrong to feel the way you do. It's a very special bond that you build with your pets. They're family, so you have every right to feel so unhappy. All the best.

I'm sorry to hear about your dog bluelass - it's absolutely fine to feel low at a time like this.

We had an emergency trip to the vets last night (11.00) complete with two children to get the hamster looked at. I'm right now watching my eight year old daughter (for whom said hamster was a Christmas present) fighting back the tears as she works out that her little friend is not going to get better - heartbreak all round.

I hope your friend pulls through. Good luck

Can understand what you're going through mate. Have a 5 year old pug dog of my own and he's like a child to us. Would be devastated if something happened to him. Hope everything turns out well, good luck.

I've always had a dog myself, and so i empathise with what you're going through right now, the stress and worry can be overwhelming.I had to get my jack russell put to sleep two years ago, and a day doesn't go by when i think of him, my dog that i have now ( black labrador) is getting on now,but she's treated brilliantly, she often eats better than i do ! But after she's gone i swear i'll never get another because of the pain of losing them is too much to bare.

But as has been pointed out Bluelass, just be there for her until she can receive her treatment, loving and caring for her is all you can do, i wish you the best of luck and hope your dog makes a full and speedy recovery.

Thanks guys, it's nice to know that there's someone out there who understands.
Going to have some quality time with the dogs this weekend with walks, swims, lots of cuddles and lots of treats.
Got to be positive.

Hopefully she will be ok bluelass. We had dogs during most of my childhood and they become part of the family. Many that have never had pets dont realise how attached you become to them. Now that i live alone, i do not wish to have a dog no more because it is so hurtful when they pass away. Once again, i hope she will be ok, Ste.

My Dog is as part of my family, i know it might sound sad but like most peopl,e i'd say, a dog is part of the family.

So it's going to be a terrible time if they are seriously ill.

Good luck.
