Ive driven bikes all my life and ive never needed to use top speed ever.
I have no respect for anyone who puts the lives of children or anyone else in danger by driving like a maniac. Those who drive under the influence are nothing but scum.

"Mr Prowse was known to the defendant since their school days. They were best friends and their family were close. He must now live with the knowledge of what happened to his friend."
Bowden was given a suspended sentence after Andrew's parents told the court he hadn't meant for the ride to end in tragedy.
Sidney and Daphne Prowse said: "What happened was not his fault. He is a man who would do anything for anyone. He is an extremely good man."

If they had been doing 80mph on a deserted road i might accept that, but 150+ on populated roads they both bought it upon themselves by their extemely idiotic and dangerous actions.

I really want to open my door at the lights when bikes weave in and out.

Isn't there a law against this?

Looks like bikes like crashing into car doors

They were clearly extremely wreckless & stupid (I try to not speak ill of the dead) but to call for motorbikes to be banned is over the top. Many people ride bikes carefully & to just ban them all because some people use them in an irresponsible way would be a poor decision & would be like banning alcohol because some people can't handle or it or cars because some people drive like tossers.

There should be efforts made to show everyone who uses the roads the consequences of acting like a knobhead on them but ultimately you've got to give people some freedom to choose how they live their life

part of the problem is that the various types of road user aren't very compatible but pedestrians, cyclists & motorcyclists are generally going to come off worst which means they have the greatest incentive to be wary of other road users, sadly too many motorists are far less careful because they feel safe in their metal boxes.

No it is technically legal, in Australia anyway, if there isn't double lines. I've never do it. What annoys me more is scooters riding on the side of the road, they should ride on the road like a proper car not some half car half push bike, they cause accidents cause people try to squeeze around them.

Undertaking vehicles is a moving traffic offence so whilst they can overtake they can't skip past on the inside.

This video is like some I've seen before and many of those I see do not have the actual collision and impact fuzzed out.
The majority of road users are relatively sensible people but there are extremes and this guy and his friend were in that category. Banning motorcycles would certainly help me reach my casualty reduction targets but it would be totally unfair on all the sensible motorbike users that do not drive at innappropriate speed.
Speed itself is not the killer, innappropriate speed for the conditions/location/your experience/type of vehicle is the reason why people end up dead or seriously injured.

My key task as the Road Safety Manager for Cheshire is to reduce the number of KSI's (Killed and seriously injured) on our roads -
If you do happen to drive in Cheshire please DRIVE LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT because quite frankly, it does!

Take care guys, please don't end up as a statistic on a piece of paper on my desk.

They should ban the Pizza “L” plate biker. Working pressures of delivery times and finding a location whilst riding through busy urban traffic can’t be wise, seen some unbelievable manoeuvres. Surprised the insurers take them on.

Scooters are great for around the eastern suburbs, and bikes have their place on the road. There is a great stretch of Old Pacific Highway just built for bikes between here and the central coast.

But when some dippy fangooloo swerving in and out of slow but not quite that slow traffic on the bridge and nearly swiping you its dangerous and annoying.
