Moyes HAS to do something big

That means that when Baines to United failed, and when Heitinga's move to Turkey was derailed, they then turned to selling Rodwell.

This is how our club directors operate. This is how Everton is run. A complete and utter financial disaster zone that squeezes the life out of the playing side of things.

This cant go on.

Can't argue with this. Spot on.

They don't even hide it very well!

To be quite honest, if we had sold Rodwell -15mil, Heitinga6-10mil and Baines--18mil and brought in some young replacements for half the sales numbers + paid down the debt with the rest....

Would that make DaveK fume more or less than us signing Michael Owen....

That my friend is the ultimate question of the day.

I predict that we will all be raped with exciting speculation......and reinvest the Rodwell money by signing Owen on a free.

Is there such a thing as a pay as you play deal anymore?
If he gets that it wont be a bad thing in signing a unemployed 32 year old from chester imo

I know mate, i never used to be like this. Im fed up with the whole lot. Moyes puts no pressure on this board who in turn pay him a huge wage just to buy low sell high an keep us in the prem....

It's sickening.

By the way.... RB & RW

Me too.....Debuchy is available for 6-8mil so it's a bizarre situation why we lack strength there, now we MUST sign a top young right mid....

They've always been illegal mate.

The fact is that we have been told that SAHA was a good lad for offering to take this type of deal BUT Moyes said he would give him a full contract -- TOTAL BS.....they are not allowed by the PFA I believe.

Michael Owen = Moyes OUT.

To be fair, I dont think too many are thick. Some are, of course. But the vast majority of those on here who come on when the latest disaster strikes to put their tuppenceworth in about 'it's a good deal for the club' etc are people who work for the club officially or are on some form of drink from them in terms of getting a match ticket worked their way every so often - so they identify with the board and their policy.

There's a lot of vested interests that dont take too kindly to having their cosy little arrangement threatened.

1. Rodwell ain't that good. (it's not a disaster, until we get new investment we have to sell occasionally)

2. To imply people that disagree with you are in cahoots with the club makes you sound like a 5 year old.

You make some good points sometimes but then you go and ruin any credence of credibility coming out with that kind of post.

It's because the stuff about the board is true. Everyone knows it's true because they experience it year in and year out. I'd say if someone doesn't understand what's going on at Everton at boardroom level now after 12 years of this lot then they are either a) working for the club as shills and trolls, or b ) thick.

I just think you are shooting yourself in the foot as a poster by writing it all the time. A lot of what else you write can be worthwhile and readable.

But no, I don't think I am one of the "thick" ones you allude to. I have the worst fears for what the club will do with this £12m. It's true that the two biggest transfers of Rooney and Lescott have been reinvested. But I can't help but feel this is an Arteta-type sale of a player.

However, being a Blue I can't help but hope that we use the money wisely. Just don't call the club rotten just because you don't like the board, because they aren't the club. People like yourself are.

What if they actually got it right here though lads, if we actually improve and put in 38 games top form - bag a trophey and are competitive for the CL.

Arent people always moaning that we never risks, cashing the chips in on Cahill and Rodwell are big calls, risks - lets role the dice see who we get in (an we will) beofre we say the lcub is on fire.

I always have to laugh i hear the club is on the brink every year, thats going on about 25 years now.

The PFA may not allow "pay as you play" contracts but there's surely nothing to stop Everton (or anyone else) structuring a contract to be, say, £10-20K basis plus £30-40K match fees. This would be the equivalent of PAYP without the insecurity of no pay if not fit (available).

Thats true, however its still going to be a salary and for 10-20k thats more than either Owen or Anichebe for that matter should be on.

We could offer him £1k p/w with a £30k appearance fee. That isn't illegal. Doubt we'd have the balls to do that and he wouldn't accept it anyway.

More than hes worth. Furthermore theres something inherrently wrong about Owen saying he will retire if no premier league club came in for him -- well mate, youre totally past it and always injured.

Retire now.
