Both Everton and Bolton are believed to be interested in Fenerbaches Brazilian defender Edu Dracena.

Dracena played a pivotal role in Fenerbaches Super Lig win and their impressive UEFA cup campaign and is thought to have attracted the attention of a host of clubs from around Europe but despite the 26-year-old being linked with Real Madrid and Liverpool, SkySports believe it is Everton and Bolton who are most likely to give the Brazilian a chance to test his skills in the Premiership.

With defender Joseph Yobo being unavailable for part of the season due to International commitments (African Nations), it is expected that David Moyes will be actively looking to bring a defender to Goodison Park.

Edu Dracena real name Eduardo Luiz Abonízio de Souza (born 18 May 1981 in Dracena) is a Brazilian football defender who, as of 2006, plays for Fenerbahçe SK after transferring from Cruzeiro Esporte Clube for €5.7 million.

Played his first professional game with Guarani against Matonense, in 1999. He was selected to the Brazilian U-20 Team, in 2001. A year later he was loaned to Olympiakos Piraeus, in 2002. After a couple of months turned back to Guarani, in 2002 but the next year was transferred to Cruzeiro. He won the Brazilian Leage and Brazilian Cup with Cruzeiro, in 2003. He was chosen in the Golden team of South America, in 2003. Selected to the Brazilian national team for Confederations Cup, in 2003. In 2004, he won the Mineiro Championship with Cruzeiro. However, he had a surgery due to an injury and was out for 7 months, in 2005. In 2006, he was awarded as the captain of Cruzeiro and won Mineiro Championship with his team.

In August of 2006, he was transferred to Fenerbahçe SK

On 19 May 2007, he scored Fenerbahçe's 500th goals against Galatasaray.

Add to that the Swiss defender who may join us and it could look like we have moved a bit forward. Nothing certain yet though.

Be quite something to actually sign a Brazilian that makes the first team after Da Silva and Rodrigo.

Don't knock DS. I'm expecting big things from him next season. Appears he could do quite a job for us in midfield. His last touches in the final(?) game last season were worthy of note IIRC.
