Moyes on SSN

GhostOfDixie

Player Valuation: £70m
Moyes has said that Fernandes was a player he wanted to bring in, but apparently the deal was getting too complicated and by the sound of it, slightly wrong, as he said Everton try to do things the right way, which I think was a dig at a couple of clubs who have not done so.

We can't ask anymore from the man. If anyone says that he lacks ambition, or the board lacks ambition, need to think about there desire to be an Evertonian. Perhaps its more than just I want! Nobody at the club lied or failed to fulfill promises. They tried and it didn't work. We can also say that it can't have been finances because we just broke our record for Yakubu and were willing to pay him 50k. So we are trying to keep up with the big boys, so to speak.

Problem is, if we lose today its going to for definite ignite the "Moyes out", "Moyes taking us as far as possible" threads.

Perhaps we are too fickle, or maybe we need to enjoy it more.

Couple of lovely quotes.

Especially that last one, in seasons gone by (in fact most of my everton life) we have had a [Poor language removed] team and nothing to look forward to and nothing (except for duncan) to cheer.

Onwards and upwards, moyes should be made manager for life!

I know, its just predictable bullshit every time we move up a level. I remember the dark days, I remember being in tears when we beat Wimbledon, I remember walking on the pitch after the Coventry game. I remember some really crap signings.

I don't think Moyes has made more than 3 or 4 bad signings. The board have backed him, the board are trying to make things happen, and they get no respect.

I thought it was great seeing our Chief Executive grinning whilst at the Uefa Cup draw, he looked the happiest out of all the guys there, and to me that is testament to a job well done for him since he has been here. Yet he is put on a pedestal as an evil man to be hated or attacked if only the slightest thing goes wrong. Now if this is because of Peter Johnson and Dunford, then fair enough, but this guy is different and he is backing up his claims with results. Something Johnson could never do.

Spot on Rob. Some people need to look at where we've come from and where we are now. Moyes is a great manager, we have a great team. Happy days as far as I'm concerned :D

hard to believe the vision of moyes that we would be a top four team when he said it a few months ago.

but the fog is clearing.. i can see this team giving the top brass a good run for their money over the next 5 years.

Agree with you Ghost. Many find it easy to forget how much Moyes have done for us since he arrived and how much the board have done as well to back him.

True, more money could always have been made available to him, but no matter how much is given, there will always be the thought: "If they had just given a little more we could have gotten...."

And with regards to his signings missing 3-4 out of all the ones he has brought in isn't bad.. it's good. All managers miss out sometimes. And the diamonds he found at the right times to low prizes are many. Bent and Cahill comes to mind and Arteta is of course another.

I think the future looks very bright if this continues and I think Moyes is the right manager to keep us going. He finally has the team he wants, not the leftovers from Smith. Lets give him time to improve us further.

It's one thing to critizise his tactic in some games, but from there to demand that he leaves when something doesn't go right.. it's fickle.

Agreed but there is still need for improvement, thats why we need to bring in a top class midfielder, which we should of done.

Any Everton supporter who is not optimistic for the season ahead, or who is dissatisfied with our squad at this point, is someone for whom we should feel very, very sorry. There are some who, when we next win a trophy, will take no joy from it. I say don't get pissed at them, just be thankful you're not them.

I think most on this forum, although we may disagree on specific points, are 100% behind our team, our manager, and yes even our CEO and Chairman.

COYB!!
