David Moyes is looking to bring in summer signings as he is starting to build a squad capable enough to compete in the Premiership and Europe next season.
Although Reading can still catch the blues, it will take a massive goal spree by both Reading and by Chelsea on Everton on Sunday.
Moyes is very happy with his squad this season after there deserved almost guaranteed European spot but admits to having to bring in signings over the summer to compete with fellow big clubs both in the Premiership and over Europe.
Moyesy told evertonfc.com “We want to hear that we’re in Europe. Now I want to bring in players that will play in Europe”.
“I would love us to be in the Champions league but the next best thing is the UEFA cup, I want to be in the Champions league as it is not impossible but we put the money to use and see where we end up”.
“The squad is very tired and small, I know that, but I will bring in players plus one or two bargain buys to boost the squad a bit”.
Everton who secured a 3-0 win against fellow European battlers Portsmouth and have more or less guaranteed a European place will look to beat 2nd place Chelsea who now have nothing to play for in the league to try and secure a 5th place finish.
