I have been flippantly saying that we are on the verge of possible liquidation.

How close to the truth is that statement though?

Thanks
Potentially very close if we have a shortfall in funding for the stadium.
However we appear to have secured another £100 m loan . How long that lasts, how much more we need , and where we get it from I have no idea. We might cover that shortfall by player sales.
I suspect the reality is that the stadium will be finished and and Everton then sold .

I’m glad to see the back of MSP. 25% for £100M, I think were the numbers floated. I think Moshiri is right not to give up that %. He can still get the £100M loan from them anyway if he wishes…but he’s the accountant and will know far more than we do….

The club is essentially worthless mate, thus his shareholding is.

It’s like this Everton will have external debt of £500 mill, why would you buy something and owe £500 mill with a 60-70 mill annual interest charge and then give someone another £300-400 mill to take on that debt. That’s why the club is worthless. Is Everton worth a billion - no.

The MSP deal meant he was getting £150 mill for 25% valuing the club at £600 mill, was a brilliant deal for him. He won’t get that again unless he sticks around to see the stadium and he doesn’t want to do that, because he’s struggling to fund it and there is a current ongoing cash call and he knows the external debt is going to choke the business in interest rates.

Why were MSP doing this deal, they were backing themselves to monatise BMD over the long term. While looking at appreciation in the PL over a decade and baseline improving the running of the club. 25% with warrants was the cautious play.

For a billionaire accountant he’s about to torpedo us with years of debt while jumping ship, Bernie Madoff was a billionaire accountant too.

OK; so that could be the reason why we are selling all our players and only buying players to the value of 50% of the sales?

It feels as though a negative snowball is in motion, and that there’s no arresting it now as it hurtles down the hill. There’s just too many issues with the club, with seemingly no hope of removing the two main issues from the equation. I fear this only ends one way. Hell it might even be a relief after watching us scrap with relegation every year. I’d finally be able to give fantasy football the attention it deserves.

It could or alternatively that money could be to cover losses that the club is making in its day to day running.
There are 2 ( major) problems.
1. The club makes massive losses year on year.
2. We are building an expensive new stadium that we can't afford.

Add in that due to the Ukraine war we have lost sponsorship deals and therefore lost another income stream.

Thank You.

So to summarise, going forward things are looking very grim?

Of course.

But there is also an opportunity.

Moshiri will have to sell. The value of the club will have plummeted. As others have said no one is paying Moshiri £500 m and inheriting at least the same amount in debt.

Therefore if Moshiri is over a barrel Everton acquired for a reasonable price and perhaps represent decent value.

However whilst this is an opportunity to get rid of Moshiri and Kenwright you have to be concerned about what comes next.

Will it be asset strippers or an oil state who wants a status symbol?
