I've had an awful day today, I could hear a strange noise in my bathroom, it
was like a motor running, I checked that nobody was using a lawn mower or
any car engines running but the noise was only in the bathroom, I thought it
was the electric heater and I was worried that it was going to cause a fire,
I rang a few electricians and was told that to do electrical work in a
bathroom they have to have a special certificate a part P I think it's
called I found 2 in the paper but they couldn't come until next week,
eventually I rang a friend who is an officer in the fire service in
Liverpool and she persuaded the fire prevention officers at Southport to
come round. I turned all the electric off so the doorbell wasn't working and
they had to use their mobile to call me to the door. There were two firemen
in a fire engine as soon as they went into the bathroom they discovered I'd
left my electric toothbrush running, talk about feeling daft. Still I expect
it made their day at the fire station, I only hope it doesn't get in the
paper, every time the phone rings I think it will be the press.
