About a two weeks ago, my son, Ethan, decided he could read. He is 3 1/2 years old. He now can read about 30 words (rumor has it, that is 20 more than chico ). He has always loved drawing and colouring, and has done some great pictures of cars (thanks to my brainwashing ) and people doing things like flying kites. Then 2 days ago, like the reading thing, he just decides to himself he can write. He goes up to Lisa and says "Look mum, I wrote my name!!" Sure as [Poor language removed], there it is, E-t-h-a-n, plain as day on the paper. In addition to that, he knows his alphabet and can count to 26 (for some reason he just stops there, but I suspect he can go higher). And he signs (in ASL, not the British one). He knows about 200 signs, about 180 more than I know! He arguably operate the PC better than me (he is always unlocking some secrets in Windows, and as you guys have seen, sometimes he posts on here (and the scary thing is his posts make more sense than mine)
It really just boggles my mind how quickly he picks things up. When you guys have kids, it is deffo my advice to treat them like a sponge---they soak up everything they see.
Now if only I could make him eat properly.......
