Naming your son/s after Everton players?

A little bit different this one, but as I'm in the middle of trying to agree with my wife on a name for our unborn son I started wondering if I could take inspiration from any everton players past or present. Has anyone on here ever named a son after an everton player? Who and why?

Haha! Good luck mate! I wanted to call a cat Bracewell. Mrs R was having non of it.

But I have just remembered I have a niece called Kendal FFS. But that was nothing to do with Eberton. Or me come to think of it.

Our son is named Christopher. As in Duncan Christopher Ferguson. Not many know that's his middle name.

I suppose the naming after a player is a dodgy subject, there is always that chance the player sods off to Liverpool after the birth certificate is signed so unless you name them Tony Leon or after an old player then there's always a risk.

you could always name them Phillip after our greatest ever player..........pointed and everything.

Congratulations mate. My brother is called Derek after Derek Temple, and my nephew last year called his son Layton after Leighton Baines. I know different spelling.

My choice would be William after Dixie, but alexander is on the short list. I just tried to put Leighton into the equation but she's having none of it!

There was a lad in New Zealand, had a Dutch father that named him after the whole Ajax 1970 European Cup Final team, subs as well, reckoned worst part was filling in official forms. He was only born about '82 as well.
