need help! [computer]

ive been trying to get on the net for two weeks not happining at all,
ive phoned virgin twice first time was telling me .. i cant exactly remember
but put usb in te back of computer & restart THEN it should be ok
so ive done all that & NOW EVERY TIME I HAVE TO PUT THE USB out of
the router to get on the internet? it connects to the router without the lead
but wont go on the net, its worked for ages but now went off how do i get it back
[everything is plugged in like it should be so i dont have a clue] nice one.

Did you just upgrade to the new Virgin security? It messed my computer up so much i had to uninstall it.

only one ive got at the moment is norton mate, i was speaking too someone
online before they was saying it might be something to do with firewall
nan & uncle use the same connection im not sure if its one of theres thats
messing it up , but if it was id still be able to connect anyway?

i dont have a clue with computers atalll haha

Have you tried reinstalling the modem software?

That can often get weird broken connections back up.

Yeah it could be one of the modem drivers, or a firewall that is blocking it. Start the computer in Safe Mode with Networking and see if it connects.

i had a prob after connecting via a wire to the router and then trying to go back to wireless, cant remember how it was rectified if thats any help.
