It seems that this site has it's own bar flies. The owner must give them a free reign and must be afraid of giving out suspensions to them, but like in pubs it's the bar flies that put people off entering.

So for sticking up for people who like to support Everton by singing, a fairly innocent subject, and for challenging thoughtless cliches that have entered Everonians consciousness in recent times in the 'our fans' thread I go onto full neg rep from full pos rep. I suspect either Mouts Goat or Elong-but my full apologies to one of those who it wasn't) . Is it any wonder this site is laughed at when it gets mentioned on a matchday?

So what's the purpose of the rep button, a power tool for those who can't argue with words? It leaves us in a situation where fansare put off challenging pre conceived views on subjects. May I suggest the complete removal of the system, plus the owner to take a closer look at the bar flies in this site, in the meantime I will make a recommendation to Toffeeweb to remove their association with you, because currently this forum reflects badly on them.

This is not a knee jerk reaction, I've seen this going on for a while now and to prove this I mentioned it in a previous thread on here on lurkers.

But on a larger scale what you're basically is that there are regulars on here who post a lot, spend a lot of time on the site and enjoy it but they also often intimidate new people and prevent them from joining in.

The interesting question that raises for me is whether say you removed the 100 or so posters who post most reguarly and as a result got 100 new posters who feel less intimidated would that ultimately be a good thing? I mean in strict mathematical terms you're pleasing the exact same ammount of people.

I mean in this particular case banning Elong and Goat to keep you posting would leave one less poster than bdfore.
