right question for ya geeks out their...

i know how to do networking from a router etc, but was wondering..

how would i go about setting up a connection from a wireless connection..

dunno if i worded that right so ill explain

if i connect a laptop wirelessly to a router (my neighbours in this case), and then want to split that incoming connection either wirelessly again or even through cable to another room (becuz i cant pick it up at the back of my house) and to another system...

how would i go about it??

so im basically using the laptop in the front room to transmit the data through to the back room, either through wifi or cable..

dont worry i have my own internet, their is a reason for this but i cant explain !!!

can anyone help??

I can't help you out because I hate wireless. It is a scam. They need to upgrade the service for me to even consider switching.

you might be able to 'peer to peer' the two computers in your home and then select to share the internet connection via the wireless laptop.

this isnt a guarantee, its a guess.

what is your plan? download some naughties on his account then let his wife know?

whack all three through a router - hard wired

set the printer up on one pc, then allow it to be shared on the network.

If you are getting a router, you might want to get one which has a combination of wireless and cable, just in case you want to add a laptop or something in the future. (A mixed wireless/cable network is my project in the New Year, oh joy.)
