Yes but how does that make Potter's case? He could get us playing good football but can he progress us?
It's not just stylistically good football. Brighton beat teams badly everywhere but the penalty areas. So the question is do you think Brighton couldn't finish or save shots because of Potter or because of who was playing for Potter?

The answer is the second one obviously. In fact they even proved it by switching goalies and immediately improving defensively. 21 Gs in 12 games with Ryan in, 25 in 26 once they switched. The same would happen up the other end if he had a real striker.

That's the case for Potter in a nut shell. They had some insane defeats this season. Hit the post 4 or 5 times against United. Lost a game to Palace where they outshot them like 25-3 or something. These switch around and you've got a pretty impressive season. Unless you think somehow his management is causing this.

Anyone is a risk.

We’ve went the experienced serial winner route & it didnt work. We’ve watched the team go from 2nd to 10th in 5 months player utter guff with a ‘Serial Winner’ as our Manager.

We need a young hungry manager, alongside young hungry players.
I don't disagree as such, we need a footballing identity and a rebuild that will take a few years. I just think we need someone with more drive and ambition and at least a bit more of a record of results I'd even take Nuno or Ten Hag over him because they have a bit more but granted I don't know Potter's record as much as others and clearly he is a promising club but maybe its a bit soon for him? I feel we need hunger ambition but also discipline and drive and tempo. I am just not sold on Potter.

We'd be fighting relegation with him in charge, people are living in some fantasy land because of one good game against Chelsea.

I'd fully understand that but it would give us the hard reset we need rather than another season of maybes.

Whoever comes in, for me, should be expected to cull, blood younger players, and be willing to finish bottom half of the table if needs be to get a long term project right.
