I want to believe so much (can't even describe how much I loved him as a kid; even wrote to him in prison, like a little Manson wife), but I just don't see it working with him as manager.

Unless I could be guaranteed that, should the worst happen on the pitch, he'd go around beating up the players, I couldn't possibly endorse the idea.

I think it would be very interesting to see what he could do...could imagine he would want more young players with tougher mentalities than the softer mercenaries we have around the squad.

I wonder if he would take it for a season to give us time to clear out the decks and bring in young players....see how he would do.

He'd have them all playing the 'Everton Way' mentally i think.

Lampard himself said his players didn’t deal with the emotion from Everton. A more experienced manager would of got his team to handle it better

When Simeone took over Atletico more senior managers couldnt handle them...

When Royle took over Everton more senior managers couldnt handle them.

Having an 'all action' side all working for each other with sprinkles of quality throughout the team is what i want to see.

Anyone seen the jarg rumour about Pirlo bringing Donnarumma with him if he gets the job?

Yes...at the end it even says its nonsense as we have Pickford.

We've all go Google on our phones but, you know, if you say so. It's odd a lifelong blue wants Slippy G, a man who, on record, stated he hates us and has legendary status at our main rivals, as our manager and seems perplexed by the reasons other blues would rather drink Sammy Lee's goblin urine than have him anywhere near the club. So odd, in fact, that I'm pretty sure it's not the truth.
You find it on Google then mate. Granted it’s not a popular opinion, but it’s mine nonetheless. This is a forum isn’t it. I totally understand why others would have the opposite opinion - most of my mates do. I’m not perplexed at all. I just desperately want to win something so I’m willing to think outside the box

But Who in the right mind would join a forum 10 years ago to wind you up after all that time. That’s some proper conspiracy thinking that.

It still has the Sherwood at Tottenham vibe to it...

But what if, though?

Alternatively, who would join a forum, apparently be a keen observer of that forum, but only post once in that time? About Slippy G.

Some things I thought were worth mentioning about Potter.

At Brighton, the average age of his signings (at the time they joined) is 24. Only 4 were older than 24. His signings have included Championship/League 1 players and younger lesser-known players from across the continent.

Brighton's average age this season was 25.8, the 6th-lowest in the league (Everton's was 26.4, the 9th-highest).

He's binned off the likes of Ryan, Duffy, Murray and bedded in younger players like White, Sanchez, Alzate, Lamptey, and that crab Connolly.

If we're to believe that Brands identified younger, less 'obvious' targets like Godfrey and Nkounkou, surely Potter seems a good match for Brands, then?

Also, Brighton for me look a good striker away from being top half. They always look extremely well-coached. And even if it's clearly a much lower level, winning 3 promotions and a domestic cup with Ostersund in Sweden, as well as getting them to the Europa last 32 (the same year we embarrassed ourselves in it under Koeman and Unsworth) is obviously a fantastic achievement. They had never previously been in the Swedish top tier before him.

I get the feeling people are dismissing him because 'his name's Graham Potter' or because his PL record is maybe comparable with that of Martinez or Silva. I personally think he's a level above that. And in terms of ethos anyway, his seems the most aligned with what Brands' appears to be.

Because the boss sends prompts to lurkers to ask if they want to start posting. Some of the prompts (I think) restrict viewing of certain subjects without posting.

Its why I started posting, and one of my first posts was about Bristol City.
