New Everton Stadium Discussion

Subscribed mate, keep us updated with all the dredging porn you like.
If you think what we’re currently seeing is dredging porn, I can only imagine how turned on you’d be if we were using the rainbowing method of unloading into the dock…..

*un-zips*

Even at the tender age of ten to fifteen, when I watched Everton from the first season after the war, I could see how important Peter Farrell was to the Everton team. He was a shortish, stocky (some would say plumpish) build but he worked non-stop for 90 minutes. He would be running just as hard in the 90th minute as in the first minute. His face was a deep red in colour from his exertions. My favourite player was Tommy Jones the centre-half but Peter Farrell was my hero. I remember going to support England in a International at Goodison against Ireland. Ireland were winning 1 - 0 and I was behind the goal when Peter Farrell scored Ireland's second goal and allegiances forgotten, I jumped up and down cheering like mad. It was the first time England had lost a game on home soil.

As a matter of interest, can you remember how much of the crowd was supporting Ireland? There must have been quite a chunk given the number living on Merseyside at the time.

You have truly some magical memories of Everton mate.

Mine cannot go past the Bayern game. Nothing compares in my experience.

It was played on a Wednesday afternoon. I must have bunked off school to go. This may have had an effect on the split of the crowd but there seemed to be plenty of support for both England and Ireland. Considering it was a mid-week game, a lot of 'bunking off' was done as the crowd was just under 52,000.

Just been watching one of the latest drone videos. I think the infill is starting to become visible now, the dock is noticeably lighter in colour (because it’s shallower / more sand in the water I’m guessing) than Nelson Dock to the south and Sandon Half Tide Dock to the north.

It's no surprise the water is a different colour.

It's (and I realise this sounds stupid) wet sand that getting pumped into the dock.

Its going to look like churned up cloudy water all the time.
