New Everton Stadium

it may be to cope with high winds over the top, low pressure over the roof, higher pressure underneath, just as the top will be bowed to resist gravity, the lower section could be bowed to resist wind pressures lifting the roof structure
All true; years ago a guy told me about canopies of all sizes;
The hard part isn't holding them up - its holding them down.

It's intentional....lots of modern stadia have inverted or twin arch trusses. The Emirates and Juventus for instance.

Without it the trusses may have needed to be deeper/heavier, creating a higher upper arch.... and we know we had some height constraints at planning.
All totally irrelevant because Johnny said it looks dodgy and the pitch doesn't fit anyway.

Should've stayed at Goodison. Ffs.

Thats just par for the course.

Everton win league, World War 1 breaks out. League cancelled

Everton win league, World War 2 breaks out. League cancelled

Everton win league, European Cup Winners Cup and due to play Juventus in the Super Cup Final. European ban on English clubs ensued plus Super Cup final cancelled. Everton unable to compete in Europe with arguably their best ever squad.

Everton cannot stray from mid table mediocrity otherwise it upsets the balance of the universe.

Oh how i long for mid table mediocrity
