New Everton Stadium

For the record, I'm also all for having "Liverpool" in the name.

I think the reds would prefer we wouldn't and for good reason. To have the best stadium in the city, to have it on the waterfront and to take the name of the city for it would be a great statement to make.

It would cause unimaginable fume among the reds But we have every right to do it IF we want to - I dont think we will.

The new Roma stadium looks fantastic , looking at the timeline for that build, they're looking to break ground early next year with opening planned for Augsut 2019.

Not into these round modern stadiums like the new Roma and the aviva stadium. But from the above post if we have the same architect as Roma looks like we will probably have one similar in design. (n)

They've done plenty of designs. Not all round. The shape of that stadium is determined by the history of the area and is based on the coliseum. Anything for Everton will be designed for Everton and the area surrounding it. The docks Is a fairly angular area with the architecture and the dock formations. Any architect worth their salt would take that into account the when designing a bespoke stadium.

If we are using the same architects as Roma it points towards a joint commonwealth games and Everton stadium venture.

Given that the esk also said there's a good chance we won't own it then it's looking like a West Ham situation is the most likely. Let's hope it's more etihad than West Ham but that requires additional money and does the new owner intend to spend. That's the big question.

That's reassuring if true. I guess we just have to wait to see.

If you're going to quote esk, you also have to consider he's said it will be a purpose-built football stadium.

The programme for the stadium, with a capacity for 50,000 spectators, includes stands for 17,000 local fans (Home End), 4,000 premium seats, 4,000 seats for parents and children in the Family zone near the pitch, a vibrant Fan Zone and the Club’s community action body offices: Everton–in-the-Community as a built-in part of the maximum level services offered at the Stadium.

Just my opinion but god that's awful. I hate these new stadiums that look like space ships and I hate the ones that look like tents even more.

Too obvious lad.

Tic toc, tic toc...

He did but that can have multiple meanings. It's fair to assume West Ham's ground was not built with football in mind. Ours will almost definitely which makes it purpose built however it could be also built with the ability to be converted when necessary for the games.

It just too coincidental the two things are happening at once and the council will be left with an atheletics stadium no one will need when finished.

Plus esk is obviously ITK but his info does get a bit distorted by the time it reaches us.
