New Everton Stadium

If its built with commonwealth games in mind that means room for a running track ,..... please no,,,
Well they built a big platform over the pitch at Hampden creating a reduced capacity arena with the surface space required for the running track, so it's not entirely impossible to make it work, but it would still require deviation from the 4 stands model and lead to big gaps behind the goal.

Feasible, but it's a firm NO from me.

I'm totally with @The Esk regarding the unrelenting negativity on here in this thread.

The 2025 thing is, in my opinion, complete scaremongering nonsense, completely without substance, that is completely at odds with every single piece of concrete evidence we have heard thus far.

The Mayor Joe Anderson actually met with Moshiri and Kenwright. He was photographed sitting with them, in conversation, at a specially convened meeting at Moshiri's London HQ. It wasn't even a chat at the match! It was a specifically organised meeting.

The Mayor, after meeting these 2 men, would not be saying all the stuff he's said publicly, especially the 'ground within 3 years' stuff and dropping all the Bramley Moore hints, if he wasn't in the know. The Club and LCC have had a terrible relationship over the years. Finally - and not coincidentally, now we have proper financial backing - the club and LCC are on the same page. Think back 12 months, when Elstone was publicly insulting the Mayor and vice versa. What a difference a year makes. He/they would not risk the relationship now by saying ill-advised stuff and saying lies. 'All politician lie' is a very lazy and convenient, trite comment for all the naysayers to say, actually a dreadful slur on Anderson's character.

This, coupled with the Mais architects in America, who also acknowledged working on stadium designs publicly, before quickly deleting the tweets, no doubt advised to by the club. Quite clearly the club does not want to release any of this info on a drip drip basis and wants to make one announcement and one presentation to blow everyone away, when the time is right. It's been said repeatedly in this thread, often by me and also by others - it's a hugely complex thing to plan and implement. Especially given the site, filling in docks, regeneration of the wider area, etc.

Anyone who has seen the Mais designs for the Roma stadium and the youtube video for it cannot possibly say an EFC stadium by them will be 'the cheapest possible stadium'. That's utter nonsense and again, is a comment the flies in the face of reality and is just negativity for the sake of negativity. There's a new EFC regime with new money, the old rules don't apply and the past that used to make you think anything the club planned would fall apart is now irrelevant.

The Commonwealth Games bid is for a decade in the future. It's got nothing to do with our plans, there's zero chance the club will replicate anything that West Ham have done, there will be no athletics track. It's just people engaging in their usual fetish for negativity.

Well said. The negativity on here is ridiculous or just wind up merchants..

And Private Eye editions ad nauseam for 'dreadful slurs' on his character.

I feel patience is key at the moment. Let's not rush what could turn out to be a grand plan.
That's the problem with the world today and instant media and quick connectivity: everybody expects to know everything there is to know right now.

All I hear is where's the in the know? Where's the pictures? Where's the design? Blah blah blah... Huge projects like this do not happen overnight.

And I'd be bloody worried if it was so easy to gain vital information from confidential business sources, as it wouldn't suggest real integrity.

As opposed to the majority shareholder ignoring the club's media channels and going direct to a Sky Sports presenter??

The loan facility, for example, isn't a desperate need for instant media and the clandestine workings of a billionaire making waves - it's publicly viewable on Companies House.

People talking about the public arena - the designers were talking about working for Everton in 2015, only no-one had picked up on it lol hardly cloak and dagger stuff

I know people are getting frustrated, calls for patience are understandable but when absolutely nothing is coming from the club unless its via some bellend on sky,but the mayor of the city is constantly spouting off, rumours of purchased land, stadium designers dropping hints and forums awash with rumour and speculation then the silence is deafening so I can understand people getting frustrated

There's no way Bill won't be trying to get a free stadium out of the commonwealth games. This is all his Christmases at once.

Liverpool has not as far as I am aware been given the nod for the games. So is it not a bit of wishful thinking by JA. I see no reason why we should knock back our needs to what is a decade from now.

Personally I am getting on a bit now and would like to see the club in a new ground before I wave goodbye to this mortal coil.
