New Everton Stadium

Oh of course, but as I understand, the Liverpool Waters project doesn't stretch to our proposed new patch, so we could become the neighbouring phase with us front and centre. Would help to ensure the Everton name is attached to the redevelopment of that area.

Bramley Moore is the northern most point of the Liverpool waters development.

It's not tied in to a bid, but if successful they will make use of the docks stadium. The stadium though, will be designed first and foremost as a football stadium.
But that simply doesn't compute Jacko. Take any of the domestic football stadia in England (excluding West Ham's joke stadium) - how do you get a running track into them and still allow for 50,000+ spectators? Hampden managed it due to being a huge stadium, no way will our stadium be comparable. So I fail to see how our stadium can be build purely as a football ground and still host athletics x years later?

They swimmers can use the new stadium to change in, and swim in one of the docks.

Given that Hampden already had a large space between pitch and stands it isn't a close fit, but that would be the process. Maybe the stands at the envisaged stadium wouldn't be as steeply raked as stadiums we're used to and the space for a track could be found that way without diminishing capacity for athletics?

That, of course, would have implications for atmosphere.

If the stadium was designed with a running track after the Commonwealth games you would have to do what man city did with theirs and dig down so the pitch level is below the outside level so where the running track was would now have a load of seats. However I can't see the stadium being built with anything but football as its main use so no running track. At least that's what I hope.

The Commonwealth games is hardly the Olympics. It is a once of event which will go ahead over a period of a couple of weeks in just less than ten years time. Most of the worlds athletic super powers barely know it exists as it doesn't affect them.

Why would a stadium which hopefully will last a hundred years be built around such an insignificant event ?
