The suggestions I have heard is that we are looking at a 60,000 capacity stadium with the potential to expand to 70,000 should demand require it in the future.
Really mate, i rememeber you were a strong advocate of a stadium capacity of 50k, whats your thoughts on a proposed 60k stadium? On average we will need another 15k to 20k bodies, it is remarkable by product of the confidence in ambition of growing the club are you surprised.
I was advocating 50k regular seats and 5k premium seats. A capacity of 60k would probably be 54k and 6k respectively.
The incremental cost of another 5k seats is around £25 million which in modern football is seemingly not a huge sum of money.
People who have concerns over the jump from 40k to 60k, you have to think about corporate will be around 5k and 3-4k max for away fans so essentially it will be 50k seated stadium.
Currently we have sold out season tickets, 31,000 but we are selling out Goodison at home exception Friday night palace.
19,000 fans to find to fill the stadium but fans want to see Koeman's Everton and if we continue our form and add to the squad with more quality plus a brand new spanking Dock stadium, those fans will flood in plus tourism will add to those figures.
Watching Space Excitedly
It also says Goodison. They can put what ever they want innit. They wouldnt have put facts innit at this point I quess.literally says 50,000 in the conference brochure
It also says "Goodison Park."literally says 50,000 in the conference brochure
There has been nothing I have heard that would suggest anything under 60k. As @The Esk has said, all indications lead towards about 65k inclusive of standard and premium seats.
Bowl shaped designs are by far the most efficient for modern stadia, structurally and spacially. Drawing on the inspiration of, does not mean copying. I would personally be surprised if it was not a bowl of some sort, even if it was an elongated design. I doubt it will be particularly angular. Admittedly this is only conjecture by myself based on other stadium designs, but there are reasons that force that shape and arrangement.
Whatever it is, you can be assured that it will be a quality stadium in a quality location.
Meis architects weren't voted as the stadium architects of the year for nothing.......
There's a bit too much Arabian razzmatazz in that design for me, but it's certainly iconic. It also looks nothing like Roma's equally iconic design - and that kind of variety right at the top-end is certainly promising.I would love something like what MEIS have done with Sports City in Doha in terms of design imagine this design on the docks, albeit a scaled down version without being a full sports olympic campus:
