New Everton Stadium

The suggestions I have heard is that we are looking at a 60,000 capacity stadium with the potential to expand to 70,000 should demand require it in the future.

Really mate, i rememeber you were a strong advocate of a stadium capacity of 50k, whats your thoughts on a proposed 60k stadium? On average we will need another 15k to 20k bodies, it is remarkable by product of the confidence in ambition of growing the club are you surprised.

I was advocating 50k regular seats and 5k premium seats. A capacity of 60k would probably be 54k and 6k respectively.
The incremental cost of another 5k seats is around £25 million which in modern football is seemingly not a huge sum of money.

Sorry mate didnt mean to misrepresent, your comments made sense to me at the time even though i was in favour of a 60k. When you consider the longevity it seems practical in terms of value and future proofing, so a broad increase of approx 10k on our average attendance. 6k in corporate and premium seating seems ambitious though, that said the background of the stadium, commercial, location and marketing of this project i imagine will see everything associated as premuim it will be selling Everton but also location and premium expierence prob not just on matchdays but confrences etc, happily each of those things will be linked and our profile raised in a footballing and commerical respect. Lets pray for a soft brexit for costs. Ive seen there may be a capacity to expand to 70k, the dock site we have purchased must be significant.

Very exciting.

People who have concerns over the jump from 40k to 60k, you have to think about corporate will be around 5k and 3-4k max for away fans so essentially it will be 50k seated stadium.

Currently we have sold out season tickets, 31,000 but we are selling out Goodison at home exception Friday night palace.

19,000 fans to find to fill the stadium but fans want to see Koeman's Everton and if we continue our form and add to the squad with more quality plus a brand new spanking Dock stadium, those fans will flood in plus tourism will add to those figures.

Watching Space Excitedly

There has been nothing I have heard that would suggest anything under 60k. As @The Esk has said, all indications lead towards about 65k inclusive of standard and premium seats.

Bowl shaped designs are by far the most efficient for modern stadia, structurally and spacially. Drawing on the inspiration of, does not mean copying. I would personally be surprised if it was not a bowl of some sort, even if it was an elongated design. I doubt it will be particularly angular. Admittedly this is only conjecture by myself based on other stadium designs, but there are reasons that force that shape and arrangement.

Whatever it is, you can be assured that it will be a quality stadium in a quality location.

Meis architects weren't voted as the stadium architects of the year for nothing.......

Palace at home was a sellout, Evertonians filled the upper Bullens section usually filled by away fans as well. The only empty seats were in the lower bullens that the Palace fans didn't fill.

I would love something like what MEIS have done with Sports City in Doha in terms of design imagine this design on the docks, albeit a scaled down version without being a full sports olympic campus:

There's a bit too much Arabian razzmatazz in that design for me, but it's certainly iconic. It also looks nothing like Roma's equally iconic design - and that kind of variety right at the top-end is certainly promising.

I love the renderings MEIS produce, too. Can't wait to see those first pictures of our new ground.

TheStadiumBusiness Design & Development Summit 2016
kicks off with an optional full day programme
on Merseyside, taking in the stadium makeover of Everton FC’s Goodison Park and the newly-completed
main stand at Liverpool FC’s Anfield. You can join the programme in Manchester (with coach transfers
included) or travel directly to Liverpool to join us. But you must register in advance!

BREAKFAST BRIEFING, BACON BUTTIES & INSIDER TOUR
Whilst debate continues on a future new stadium for Everton FC
(with a potential boost from Liverpool’s bid for Commonwealth
Games 2026), the club has continued to invest in its historic
Goodison Park. The ground dates back to 1892 and is one of the
world’s oldest purpose-built football grounds.
The club’s new owners have stated their intention to put The Toffees
at the top table of Europe’s football elite, whilst preserving
the unique community foundations of this club. This summer’s
close-season sees the completion of a comprehensive overhaul of
hospitality spaces, new LED lighting, rebranding and re-naming of
two stands and eye-catching, vinyl wrappings of the stadium
exterior.
>>
Tour this dramatic stadium makeover and hear how it was
delivered in just weeks! Who knows, we may also get an update on
the club’s future stadium plans?

Currently, 30,000 current STH + 7,500 non-STH + 2,000 away fans = 40,000

Future, 40,000 STH + 15,000 non-STH + 5,000 away fans = 60,000

A lot of clubs will sell the 5k away allocation, away fans will love coming to see a brand new stadium especially if 'twenty is plenty' is in place (or £25 or whatever in 4-5 years time). So the club's work is get 37,500 of our fans up to 55,000. Good value sensibly priced seats (topped up by premium yield seats) would seem to be the key here.
