New Everton Stadium

Well maybe, but you would just say nothing. Fan discontent would only drive the price down, as would the idea that further expansion is not viable. As a sales pitch I would say that would be a very poor one.

This strikes me more as an attempt to try and force the fanbase into submission and accept higher price rises under their own ownership.
I haven't been following events on that closely. But I suspect that it's an Ian Ayre type of grumble from their fans rather than a go at FSG full throttle?

I reckon if they do well on the pitch then it can be managed until a new buyer takes over.

Moshiri has made no announcements since his introductory remarks in the programme in February.
Kenwright and Anderson are still best friends.
Bit too early for the Bob Dylan quotes.

Never too early mate - and he is right about 'The times they are a changin'...well the middle verse anyway

Come writers and critics who prophesy with your pen
And keep your eyes wide the chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon for the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who that it's namin'
For the loser now will be later to win
For the times they are a' changin'!

Cost benefit wise, I'm not sure they can gain that much more from another 6,000 seats, tbh. I think they're readying to sell up and leave, and a stadium of 54,000 capacity when Champions League football and its riches are on flow is not going to deter many buyers. It'd be a greater capacity than Juventus, for example.

There were reports of Chinese billionaires sniffing around backed by the Chinese government.

who told you that?,99.9% of Chinese people have never heard of the river Mersey.
iv spent time in hong kong and the mainland.

Absolutely mate. I'm not sure why people are making this stuff up here.

I hope beyond all hope that a Tony Xia type fantasist takes the RS over, dream skyline and all, and runs them into the ground in the same way that all the Midlands clubs are about to experience.

Begs the question why, when H&G were sizing up a new stadium on Stanley Park, that they didn't consider the waterfront at the time if it's advantages are as obvious as we all like to think? The Evertonian in me just can't believe that if we pull it off we may have stolen a march on them in broad daylight.

A more than fair question really. Who knows but maybe at the time Peel believed that they could pursue their own options with the land?

Liverpool's main foray into the new Stadium design etc was happening in the years prior to 2012, whereas Peel didn't receive its final outline planning go ahead until November 2013. Any movement on the waterfront in terms of allowance etc, would've been too late for Liverpool to have progressed at the rate they wished.

Thanks mate. Surely Liverpool weren't in such a rush though that they would have saved a few years but passed up the location of a lifetime for their future stadium?

Didn't realise FSG had only loaned the club the money and would be seeking repayment from ticket sales.

Do the Liverpool fans know that. It is news to me. To think some folk on here complain about Moshiri and his money.

So in essence it was not really investment by FSG but a repayable loan no matter how many years it takes.

I cant speak for them, but maybe it was the owners looking for a quick return rather than the long term viability and location of Liverpool FC. I'm only making assumptions like...
