New Everton Stadium

Only ever looked on rawk once prior to a derby, just had a little look again just to see what their general and overall reaction is to this as someone mentioned about them flapping in previous posts. Jesus wept they weren't wrong, here's just a small handful of them ...

[Poor language removed] piss myself when they announce that it's going to be in [Poor language removed] Knowsley not the Docks.

They should just put it on the industrial estate and be done with it.

Yep. They'll go for the cheapest option. Of course the cheapest is staying put, so that's probably what they'll do.

When I see a spade in the ground I will believe it

They can have the biggest shiniest diamond encrusted palace of a stadium right next to the Pier Head for all I care, they will still be bitter blue [Poor language removed] deluded nuggets wherever they build it.

How are they going to pay for a new stadium? Is Moshiri taking it out of his own pocket? Don't see how else they would manage it.

Pissing myself at the claims of 'were back' with Moshi lads spin around the docks. Your back? You've never even been there in the first place you daft [Poor language removed].

And that's just a few of them. Honestly had the biggest grin ever reading through all of that tripe, they really are bricking it. Looks like we're going to have to drain out the River Mersey first so it doesn’t overflow with kopites salty tears ... let the good times roll :D
Amazed they've got the time to consider us at the moment, what with the build up to their Cup final tomorrow;)lol

The fact that he's not been clamped down (and the club does monitor social media including fans) suggests that the information is not misleading.

It's information by deduction which is crazy in my opinion.

Maybe.

On the other hand if the club were looking to give the appearance of serious intent to solve the stadium situation (or even to suggest that we're further down the line than we are) using third parties would suit them down to the ground. They've promised nothing substantial themselves and so aren't seriously challenged about a scheme's failure if it comes to it, but the job of energising/pacifying fans is achieved.

As you know I have a very jaundiced view of all things stadium and Everton. I see it all as machinations and plate spinning exercises (not only by the club but also the local state). The Meis tweeting doesn't exactly help cut through that caution.

I think we will know more around the 31st October - 2nd November.
Im not ITK at all but that Stadium Design Summit still makes mention of a 50k new build costing £150m+
If the new stadium is going to be talked about at that summit, I think we'll have an announcement immediately prior to it.

I can't see it being announced to the industry before the fanbase.

Yes, that last line is at the heart of it. I couldn't imagine it being done by other top clubs. They'd have their message very tightly together and maintained. Imo, when Meis started to tweet about the stadium situation he should have been closed down on that - politely. Obviously the club cant dictate to that idiot Anderson, who has his own game plan imo. Still, Meis should have an inner inhibiting voice that tells him its not right to keep on sending forth scraps of (mis)leading information.

Most of his tweets relate to watching football, slamming Donald Trump or doing the Beatles thing. For the most part, he doesn't bite when dangled an opportunity to get things off his chest.

Whatever the design, lets take the Etihad as the best example of how not to do it. With its concrete structure and high roofing its got to be the poorest new stadium acoustically there is. For a modern design it doesn't even address the need to keep everyone dry, since the roofing is barely aligned with the front rows and is so high the rain drifts in anyway up to about 15 rows back.

The only thing that's good about it is the area given over to wheelchair bound supporters. It's the only ground i am aware of where this area is not at pitch level. Instead it provides great views, from the back of the lower tier, made possible I guess in that this is actually at ground floor entrance level since the pitch is below ground level.

I can vouch from yesterday, with the last seat in the corner of row DD (EE being the last one) and with a 30 foot drop onto hard concrete the other side of the wall by me, that there was a fair old wind whistling around as well, with little gaps here and there. OK yesterday on a mild October day, middle of winter, no thanks.

Just googling images of grounds as you do.

Not sure what thoughts are on these - at the same time not sure if its warranting thought :)

All that matters is all indications point towards a dock side stadium :)
