New Everton Stadium

The Blue Union tweeted him saying they wanted a "meaningful dialogue" with fans regarding the stadium move. Joe Anderson replied asking what they meant by meaningful dialogue saying he would if he could. Then the Blue Union said they wanted consulting on location, facilities, transport links, safe standing, ticket prices and to be engaged with "on the whole package" so obviously Anderson then ignored them.

....sound a bit like Momentum. I like the idea of an inclusive approach but at this stage I think things need to be left to progress through the governance process. The balance needs to be right, things can't stall negotiating the demands of one fan group.

He's a user.

He used the likes of KEIOC to curry favour with Everton fans opposed to Destination Kirkby when he was out of office and trying to oust the Lib Dems and become council leader, now he's hugging Moshiri and ignoring legitimate fan concerns.

You think Joe Anderson has the say on Everton ticket prices, stadium location and what facilities go in the ground? I think it's the BU who are the users here to be honest. If they genuinely wanted consultation on those issues they'd be going to the club not the mayor.

How d'you know they haven't?

Anderson is there as the city representative, the fans are part of the population. He's very involved in the stadium process and so it;s legitimate to petition him to get fan issues on the table at an early stage.

Once the details are ready to be announced, they will be announced. The BU just try to use situations such as this to give themselves a feeling of self importance. They actually create a divide in the fan base, and as such I believe that with Everton's best interests at heart, they should keep fan engagements to a singular level on a much wider scale, rather than with 'fan groups'.

I just wish that the BU would stop thinking that they speak for Evertonians everywhere. They don't. Anything that they think they can bring to the table, can be brought to the table by a whole number of Evertonians outside of the BU banner.

It's a tough one, if the club announced Stonebridge Cross tomorrow the fans would be in uproar and a lot would be saying they obviously haven't taken the supporters wishes into account.

It's been said a lot in here recently that the club is awful at conveying information (by the most respected posters no less) so I think it's understandable that people want to know what's going on.

However there also a need for the club to get things in order before going public with most of the details.

As far as I can remember at this moment in time there has been absolutely zero information to come out of the club regarding anything to do with a stadium and that includes the abandoning of the WHP project never mind a new stadium site.

Where have they stated that?

I'd say anyone at any stage asking salient questions that would affect all fans concerning transportation, pricing, capacity etc is a good thing. Hpw could it be seen as a negative?

Joe Anderson is the only person who has spoken about a stadium publicly, of course it makes sense to go to the person who is most likely to engage with you.

This isn't the time for one self appointed fans group to take over the mantle of the 'fans voice'.

Let's hear what the plans actually are, then any concerns can be raised by whoever

So you think he can answer questions on ticket prices and stadium facilities just because he's spoken in very general terms about a preferred location being the docks? The Blue Union have also used twitter to speak about the stadium publicly, can they answer questions about ticket prices and stadium facilities too?

The BU can PO.

Why on earth would we want Anderson anywhere near the decision making process for our facilities etc?
He is there as a voice for the council...end of.

I, for one, don't want a politician getting his feet under the table just because 'at the moment' he happens to 'hold office'.

Any issues regarding facilities will be and should be down to designers and the club.

Yes we want a great stadium on the waterfront but I don't want BU sticking their noses in and making things difficult just for the hell of it.

As far as I can see there is only one decision to be made and that's the docks or SC.
I am sure the fans will, as a whole, let the club know if they opt for the wrong one.

Other than that, what on earth are the 'fans issues'? Toilets, bars, transport? .....pathetic.

BU should stick to demonstrating when things are going wrong and not interfere when things could be going right. They have a time and place but now is not it.

State of you lot. You all want the fans to be consulted over the site of the new ground, the moment a group steps forward to begin that process you all start bleating 'who are they to think they represent the fans?!' Well no-one else is doing it!

If BU open the door for fan consultation then it's up to the fans to pile in, or stop whinging.
