New Everton Stadium

Once again I refer to their effort on Stanley Park, but did it really happen whereby frustrated by the non progress on starting the build, a group of those rats commondered some JCBs and started ripping up the park to prove a point?

Oh yeah, why did they start digging if it wasn't even going to be built?

@Jacko93 @The Esk @RobSpurs Are you able to explain what the steps are now in terms of Everton actually 100% securing the ground move to the docks? From reading various posts I gather Jacko93 and The Esk are confident we have an agreement with Peel for the purchase of the land.

What are the next steps and when will we finally be able to sit back and relax, really believing that unlike usual, this one won't end up collapsing? I don't want to get too carried away at this stage to find out that there is a good chance of it falling through like in the past.

It has probably been covered already as well, but what are the potential obstacles at this point, given that finance doesn't appear to be one of them? I read that planning permission was denied for Spurs in 2010 by the council, so how likely is that for us? Any idea on how long it takes for planning permission to be granted for new Stadiums in England or is there a huge fluctuation depending on location etc?

From what I have read so far, things are running along nicely at the moment, hope that's the case!

Given that the Etihad name/brand has increased tenfold thanks partly to the city takeover, the emirates take over of Arsenal's stadium name, Im guessing Everton will be call the VIRGIN STADIUM. Even if we got the biggest deal in the PL history we would still be embarrassed by it lol

I'd say there's zero percent chance of planning being rejected.
I'm guessing that surveys of the site to ensure its fit to develop are taking place whilst the planning process is going on? Does planning permission just consider the impact to the area and neighbouring properties, or does it look into the actual suitability of the land itself?

Why would Moshiri go through all of this charade knowing full well, if it was all just a show for the fans it would haunt him forever, it makes no logical sense. He's no doubt heard first hand the crap Kenwright and the board get for past failures, it would've made more sense for him to just go along with the Walton Hall Park lie and string that out if he's not serious.

It would be quite appropriate really. All of our younger fans are virgins when it comes to winning trophies.
