New Everton Stadium

I've no doubt the Echo get it wrong at times and the rumours are right sometimes. My post acknowledges that.
The point is one of probability. The journalists are right far far more often.
I'd also point out I've seen no pics of the delegation sitting in the car outside SC. If someone witnessed this why on earth didn't they post the pics?
Personally I'd love to see a credible source doing so as I think it would be hugely favourable to the prospects of BM if this rumour were true.

Personally, I'd prefer no pics from SC as that would mean it's not in the equation?

Unlike with DK where other local authorities would be a big consideration and the Local Plan was compromised, I dont think that side of things (planning permission) is going to be the major stumbling block. It will all be dependent on the land owners playing ball. At Kirkby the council owned the land and Tesco were the beneficiaries of that - and Everton too if it'd have been passed by the Sec of State. It all made sense for all three parties. Will Peel be willing partners/sellers? I have my doubts.

I'd be a bit more confident if the next time there's a on site photo op walk about by the great and the good, somebody of substance from Peel was there as well...or even some positive Peel comment.

Yep. Looked last time like a nice photo op for spin merchants than anything substantial.

Yeah, Peel had no idea that all these chancers were trespassing on their land. I know we've had a lot of false dawns but I don't understand why some people are automatically negative. Is it so they can say "I told you so" if it goes tits up? We potentially have something amazing happening to our club so why not be excited.

I also don't understand the entitlement that some have in terms of being told every single thing that happens at the club. If it happens it's a huge deal that has an impact on the city in general. In any other industry you aren't told about things until they are definitely going ahead. Why should this be any different?

This is our 4th stadium move, 3 of them crashed and burnt much further down the road than this 1, hence some people believing it when they see it, now clearly we have a different "shot caller" this time around, so yeah, maybe things will be different, but the Summer lack of inaction has taken the "shine" off the nothing will be the same shouts, so I think its right that some people have doubts until their is actually a spade in the ground.

There's a difference between having doubts and being outright negative (not saying you have been). I have doubts and I won't believe it until I see it. I've been a blue for almost 30 years and unfortunately that has taught me to be cautious. But I find it upsetting that when we might be on the cusp of something huge for the club a lot of our fans immediately bring out the knives, Moshiri is a fraud etc. I understand being wary, we've been down this road 3 times before as you say. But let's get p*ssed off when/if it doesn't happen.

My main concerns revolve about what surveyors will find beneath the dock/docks and the massive costs of making it a suitable base for parking a 60,000 capacity stadium there. But like planning permission, this will surely have been covered in any prospective deal to purchase from Peel

Filling in the dock will be a formality. Other docks around there have already been filled in.

Absolutely spot on. I genuinely think some people just like moaning for the sake of it. It's like they define themselves as being negative. Perhaps it's because Kopites generally see no wrong in their own team and are blind to their faults, and some Blues try to forge their own identity by being the complete opposite and thinking everything's wrong with their club, even when lots of things aren't and are actually progressing really well.

fair play to the marketing team at Everton for managing to sell thousands of season tickets with the "nothing will be the same" strap line, reality is they have completely had them off, we continue to be rancid from top to bottom

What are you talking about? How are we rancid from top to bottom? We've been a second tier team for nearly 30 years but we hopefully have something on the horizon. We've got a great manager, a rich owner who has been in football for ages, best squad in a long time and hopefully a new stadium on the docks. There's so much depressing sh*t going on in the world at the moment and people are so quick to look for the worst in everything.
