New Everton Stadium

Yeah it just suits Goodison. One of the first things I noticed on my first visit and still visualise it when Goodison is mentioned.
I like the fact that Dan Meis has given us some clues to the design.
Gives me a good feeling that we're not just going to get a stock/soulless stadium.

Yeah totally agree, all the noises coming out of that design house are positive. Coupled with what Esk is saying this could be sensational.

What you say about Goodison is bang on....every single EFC legend has been pictured in action with the Leitch in the background. You just know it's Goodison instantly.

I've been thinking about the latticework. As iconic as it is, and as much as I love it, would it suit a modern stadium?
Obviously it will have a modern take on it but I just can't see how it would fit in.
Saying that, there's more artistic brains than mine on the case so I'll have to wait and see..would love some brickwork though.

The Leitch lattice work could be used around the exterior of the stadium, like whats been done at the Stadio Della Roma.

'Iconic' is going to be the most apt description of our new stadium.

It will become an iconic building, let alone stadium in its own right. It will provide the city and the club the sort of identity the Sydney Opera House provides Sydney.

I think you're right to be optimistic, but tend to agree with this lot:

I really hope that the latticework is retained, it is a great way of linking the old with the new. It would be interesting to see what a modern take on it would look like.
