New Everton Stadium

Could the delay in announcing the deal to buy the land by them waiting for Meis to complete a design that they feel hits the brief and is signed off. Meaning they could announce the entire project at the same time?

I don't know what stage Dan is at currently. A simple announcement that we have agreed to purchase the land subject to planing permission would make a lot of blues very happy.

Is it fair to say that this was leaked to the independent, or a brief by the club or simply just guess work by thr journo? If it is a leak then expect an announcement soon?

As a southern Blue that travels up for a couple of games a season I am not familiar with the area. From what I am reading BMD is quite isolated and not conveniently close to the city centre like Kings Dock. Is it fair to say that the success of this move will be very much dependent on Liverpool Waters moving forward with developments on the neighbouring land and the council delivering on the transport/infrastructure? If we get the site and build the stadium but Liverpool Waters choose not to develop the land for the next 30 years and we have to make do with the existing transport/infrastructure would it be a disaster? Just trying to determine how many cards need to fall into place for this to be game changing for our club.

its not that far out mate, within walking distance if you are able bodied. We went the arse game and went for a couple of pints near the kings dock first and it was quite a nice walk alongside the river from the city. Throw in a couple of half decent alehouses on the way for a pit stop and you're well set for the game. Its a fab place and if the local area gets built up, which it will, the whole area will be fab.

I keep mentioning this stadium when i dream of Evertons new home.

About the right capacity and the crowd are in your face, you need that 12th man, never underestimate the importance of a good ground.

Most of the new stadiums in England have the atmosphere of a mince pie.
