New Everton Stadium

But...Im doubtful that we will get one.

Why are you questioning the credibility of a globally renowned architect in Dan Meis, who has publicly said in publications that he is submitting designs for the dock site?

He has zero to gain from telling lies and quite a lot to lose professionally. This is a man who has already designed stadiums for other high profile clubs.

Skepticism is one thing but ignoring many different warning signs and evidence is another.

Does Dan Meis know about the bird tho?

My old mans first fire station was at the gate between Canada Dock and Huskisson Dock right on the sea wall. Talking in the boozer the other night and he said quote...."play football down there!!! jeze it will always be blowing a hooligan and will always be freezing cold, don't think it will be any different now to the late 50's".

That said, reckon the designers will have to enclose it all to keep the wind down or at least have a large stand on the river side. Thing is don't stadiums need the side that faces the sun mainly to be the lowest side?

Well our highest side now is on the Mersey side of the ground, Old Trafford use to have real issues with not enough sun getting onto the pitch but they use more of these sun lamps these days, which we store behind the Park End. I know what you mean about the wind, its why a lot of the ground people who have put pictures up in this thread wouldnt work.

Nice cold ground, make it harder for the visitors!!

Heated seats for folk like me. Thinking about it, most of the sun in winter will come up the river. Probably right that modern technology means the need for sun for the grass is less.

Ok.

Studying the site...sounds shaky.

LOL How does it sound 'shaky'? Any architect - whatever they're building - studies the site they're planning to build on before they begin.

I'm sorry if I'm coming across as browbeating you Finners, but there really is no sign that this is 'in doubt'. Granted we're still awaiting public confirmation by the club, but there are no 'warning signings' that problems are ahead.
