New Everton Stadium

so....i thought we would have bought the land from the docks.

oh hey wait a minute
For me, the elephant in the room is the waterfront site. But, as somebody said, it’s a complex issue. The challenge with WHP, we wanted a site that could be regenerated. But there were all kinds of issues. But believe you and me, we tried. Everybody is working extremely hard to get the one we all want. On Friday, we announced £20m for a road directly into the dock site. The reality is, there is a railway station being built there. This is the most exciting opportunity this club has had in decades.

OPTION TO PURCHASE SUBJECT TO PLANNING PERMISSION.

Clear enough for you?

Looks like it's going to take ages. Which is absolutely fine as long as it ends like we all want it to.

It's like the cladding and Goodison's new exterior on a much bigger scale. Taking a long long time. But totally worth it in the end.

We're not the most patient of fan bases, but would urge it with this.

Some of you are right cry arses.

The club has an agreement on the land with peel holdings, this is subject to numerous studies being conducted to ensure the site is sustainable for a stadium.

The club have to make sure that every possible outcome is looked at, reviewed and looked at again to ensure that every angle is covered. You're talking about filling docks to build a stadium on it and that stadium is going to hold excess if 60k people

You then have safety aspects, mass evacuation protocols and traffic management to consider as well as increased throughput from a £300m container terminal 4 miles up the road as well as being built in what will be one of europes biggest land development projects for god knows how long.

Try and expand the realms of reality to what is, and what is not possible in a 4 month period

Nice to know BMD's the plan A, negotiations/studies are ongoing and they know the fans' position on the issue.

Would have been nice to have something a bit more concrete than that, but it'd be a dream location for the stadium, so I can wait a "couple of months". I think the fact they're talking about it and have been pictured there signals some confidence like.

Looks to me we're basically in the same position we've been in before - trying to find funding. This time we have a billionaire so should have a better chance.

Elstone:
“We are optimistic about the new stadium prospects. It’s an optimism tempered by some significant remaining issues that need to be resolved before we can move forward.
But it’s an optimism founded on solid progress on many fronts, most encouragingly, progress in our partnership with the City Council and its willingness to explore options to support our efforts to find the money to make the stadium viable, the biggest challenge we’ve always faced.

Not really mate. You can't expect the club to fund train/road links etc. Anderson said that there will be a train station built there. What for?
