New Everton Stadium

Yeh...true.

In reality though, we are further behind than most expected. People believed we had the dock site pretty much all wrapped up...and it's not even close. It's merely top of the shortlist.

TBH, I was perfectly happy with what was said. I understand it's complicated business and it'll all take a lot of time.

Just because there are other options, it does not mean nothing is secured.

Support our efforts is to do with infrastructure/access etc not fund the stadium
"find the money to make the stadium viable, the biggest challenge we've always faced"
The point is we're trying to find funding for the stadium just as we were several times before (biggest challenge we've always faced).
The narrative that Anderson constructed last May, that the funding was or would be there presumably from Mosh, now seems not to have been accurate.

Ironically I'm a little disheartened tonight because they gave out more information than I thought they would. Most of the extra information seemed to be caveats and once again questions over our ability to finance the Dockside stadium.
The ugly spectre of SC still regrettably hangs over us. Although on the plus side (possibly) we appear to have a plan c.

It would have been reassuring to hear that land had been purchased subject to planning permission, as has been strongly rumoured.
Still, Elstone said the next 2-3 months are crucial, so hopefully a decision of some sort within that time scale.

Moshiri said: "The fans must know we have done the hard bit. We have paid the debts, we are free to do what we want, we have the finances."

Straight from the horses mouth.

The stadium build will have to be funded as Moshiri won't be paying out of his own pocket, however (quotes from Jo aside) LCC won't be funding it. It will be some mixture of private funding and share issues etc.

Clearing of the existing debts paves the way for this imo.

LCC will no doubt be under pressure to invest in infrastructure and indeed site prep work around BM. That is the job of government.
