New Everton Stadium

I remember that too in fact i remember the building of the main stand, but you cant blame Moshiri for previous failed stadium moves nor for all the obstructed views in the main stand

True. Just the backdrop for Moshiri is a history of aborted stadium moves, misinformation and scepticism. Not his fault, but certainly a factor in how it's all handled.

So, as usual, we don't know. Even though we had 'bought' BMD months ago, we still don't have a clue. I will be staying in the Titanic hotel with my wife over the weekend for the match on Saturday, I will look out in the direction of BMD and dream of what might be, but once again I just won't know. It's like someone just stole Christmas, again...........
You have to REALLY want to see the negative side to not think tonight was good news on more or less every front (apart from the obscene size of the compensation package agreed with Martinez and his gang)

Honestly thought that for once I'd come on here to be greeted by smiles and happiness.

But no, still the same mind numbing, soul crushing pessimism. Anyone who thought well were going to get concrete news on BMD tonight was simply setting themselves up to be disappointed. Even if we've agreed to purchase the land, there's a thousand reasons why we might not be able to, or want to confirm anything publicly.

Tonight was pretty much positive news wall to wall - even on the subject of the stadium, it was confirmed that everyone is pulling in the same direction, and that there's clearly a will to make BMD happen, if it is at all possible to do so.

In the meantime, the pressing need to increase our commercial revenues has started, which will make a massive difference to the club between now and whenever we finally move grounds.

We can have all the sponsorship in the world, we are really just catching up anyway. We can buy all the greatest players on the planet, but I just want Moshiri to tell us that we are building a Stadium on the docks. I know he's doing all the right things, and I know it all takes time, but we need a vision, a goal, a belief, and I'm running out of time to see it. I love GP, I've spent 50+ years going there, but I want this new ground.........

Again - not fair at all to those that aren't of that opinion.

We've apparently got a training ground sponsor lined up but, in front of shareholders at the Clubs biggest meeting of the year, this wasn't named. So it's about to happen but we don't know who - the only rumour is a decidedly dodgy betting firm.

We still owe something like £22.5m to a shadowy BVI type loan company. That is a massive sum of money, don't let the mental vagaries of modern football cloud this.

All these 'rumours' about land purchases are just that - unsubstantiated. People waited for the Land Registry to be updated - nothing. The accounts to be published - nothing. And now the AGM - lots of good words, definitely, but no confirmation of a land purchase, subject to planning permission or otherwise. It's all still at discussion stage.

The next shirt deal will 'likely' be worth 300% of the current one. That's great - but it helps that we are starting from a dismal current starting point thanks to the Chairman and CEO who seem to be as firmly in place as they were a year ago.

The only thing - and it is great news, definitely, for the match going supporter - is that was categorically committed to was the freezing and reduction in ticket costs. Strip away the weasel words of the boys on stage and that's all it was.

Focus on one thing here - if it wasn't Moshiri involved tonight (a man who the vast majority know absolutely nothing about) we'd have been raging (rightly) about Bill and co still talking a good game about raising revenues, moving stadiums and investing in the squad.... over a decade after Destination Kirkby.

Congratulations, an excellent summation of tonight's event.

The small fact that Moshiri is worth quite possibly billions of pounds and has already injected money into the club changes (rightly) people's view on how realistic future progress in these areas is.

What about focusing on the two guys on the podium alongside Bill etc.
Walsh and Koeman. Massive moves and finance went into recruiting both.

But it's upfront money Sheeds that we are going to be paying back. We're still north of £20m in the poopenhausen to a shady Vibrac type firm.

Last summer saw a monster influx in TV money and final league positions for all clubs. We also sold (for me) a player who will go on to be on the country's top CBs for £50m.

Forget who is on stage with Bill for now - the real question is, why is Bill still there? Why is Elstone? I saw what @The Esk posted in the other thread and I'll be honest, I've got my head in my hands about it. The right questions are not being asked of the Club at the moment and one of the biggest fan influences around at the moment - and he is, he has one of the biggest Everton social media presences and a platform on the Echo website - is being extremely generous with what was served up tonight.

I've seen people saying 'if it falls through it won't be for want of trying'. I mean, can you get a more Everton phrase since the turn of the century phrase than that? Moyes used to say 'we start every season with the goal of winning the league' and we scoffed at him, but he's done a damn sight more than any other bugger in the last two decades to at least try and make that happen.

I'm sat on the train so I may as well answer you.

The right questions have been asked and everyone knows the answers, however the execution of the answers will take a little while longer.

Bill was determined to stay whilst he is a shareholder and he was determined to keep his team around him.

Bill will remain a shareholder until the stadium is all but built and as a result he and Jon will remain on the board until that time when Moshiri exercises his options.

Elstone's timings are less certain, but they wont be any longer than Jon and Bill's.

I'm a supporter so naturally positive, but the justification for my earlier comments is that I heard more progress tonight than I have done in the last 20 AGMs most of which I have attended. I make no apology for that.

Ps I appreciate you tagging me in properly, thanks for that
